Mercedes Extended Warranty - in practice not theory
1) 2003-06 is less reliable then 2007-09
2) Most warranty stories seem to come from the 03-06 crowd
3) The cost of the warranty has basically doubled over the life of the e-class (from 2k to 4k apples to apples)
If I wait past 30 days from purchase, I am liable for a 15% surcharge. But am I allowed to purchase the warranty later (say 3.5 yrs from now) while still under the factory warranty? The only drawback being that the price of the warranty may increase between now and then (not the surcharge but the basic warranty cost 4k->6k) Is that right?
ball joints
transmission leaking at electrical connector
door locks
a/c blower motor
SBC total brake replacement to include towing
ignition switch replacment
Hot water heater valve
Ash tray wood cover
Cig lighter socket replacement
Memory seat failure
Rear air spring replacement
Airmatic air compressor total replacement
I hope this answers your question. I have not had the transmission replaced or the command module.
My guess is if the transmission failed under warranty it would be replaced. It probably won't just "wear" out in 100000 miles but might fail due to gycol injestion common on some radiators.
I would hate to think what this car would have cost without the warranty. The salesman told me "MB's are great cars and you really don't need to spend the $$ on the extended warranty
". Whew glad I did. This car has been a
since I bought it. The one good thing I have is the dealer has been the best dealer and service manager for service I have ever used in 50 years of owning a car.Once they fix a system under CPO warranty they will not fix it again under warranty and will charge you.
I've had the doors fixed 4 times on my G500 under warranty (so did the former owner!) and NOW they tell me they won't do it anymore.
I would suggest you just read your contract and use that as a basis for repeat failures. It might state only 1 repair but it may also not include a limit. Best of luck.
If you have a part fixed under warranty, and it fails again when you are out of warranty, the 12mo/unlimited mileage parts warranty does not apply. Parts warranty only applies for parts purchased by the consumer.....
Does this clarify?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
MB does not offer finacing for ELW purchases (except when bundled with the car loan). Some aftermarket warranties do offer financing at 0% interest. Be careful when buying aftermarket and make sure it is an excusionary contract.

I have less than 200 miles remaining on my factory warranty for my 07 GL450.
So if someone has her contact info, please pass it along.

Sounds a little high to me.
One girl did say her "Rep" will sometimes offer 10% off to make his quota.
What do you guys thinks?
