throttle control and Transmission shift programming

I'm new to my e550 4 matic and put about 1,500 miles on it so far. I hate the way it shifts and the way I can modulate the gas pedal (any slight touch becomes full throttle). I've tried switching from c to s, and thought that maybe it would just require time to "adapt" but it hasn't. It's about the only thing I don't like. I thought I'd get used to the gas pedal, but haven't yet.

Suggestions?

Wow, I'd switch my transmission control with you!

I didn't like how mine has a lag time, and took a couple seconds to register what I wanted it to do. But now that I've "reprogrammed" it, I'm 85% satisfied with it.

Search the forum for "reset ECU". It's very easy to wipe your adaptive transmission control and reprogram it by driving (although I'm NOT sure if it applies to 5-speed 4Matics or not... maybe someone else can confirm it does or not). Just remember that IF you choose to do this, you may not be able to get your current "settings" back... as in later if you want a very aggressive vehicle, you're going to have to reset the adaptive transmission again and take a chance that you won't be able to get it back to where it is now.

EDIT: Did you purchase your vehicle NEW or USED? 1,500 miles is VERY LITTLE for 2 years of driving. Perhaps the previous owner had a "Sprint Booster" or ECU Flash or some other mod installed? Just listing some possibilities...

You don't need a dealer to reset the ECU... you can reset the throttle control yourself by following steps in some threads that are "incorrectly" titled as ECU reset.

Here is one of them: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...set-works.html

Didn't reset ECU myself yet (will try tomorrow), but car is back from dealer with new motor mounts, transfer case, and some odds and ends. All covered under warranty. Already drives better. Plus the loaner Camry just made me like my car more...
