Only if she burns them as a normal CD. Not if she just copies them to a CD as MP3's.
(In fact, rumour has it the audio equipment does have the ability to play MP3's but this is turned off. MBtech, any comment?).

This release from MB was published in the Jan/Feb The Star (MBUSA mag):
"Non-Commercial CDs in MB CD Units:
Programmable compact discs such as CD-R and CD-RW may not play correctly in MB USA CD players. If you encounter this problem with CD-R and CD-RW audio CDs in these players, verify correct operation of the player with a commercial CD. Due to variations in CD-R and CD-RW media and technical inconsistencies in programming them, MBUSA does not support their use in MB CD players."

We are talking two separate issues.
1. PHYSICAL Format
CD works. CD-R that you burn usually works. I have had no problems.
2. LOGICAL format.
MP3's on a CD will not work. Normal audio CD format (technically, WAV files), WILL work.
Cheers
Michael

Mine works perfectly - Different brands of CD-R's always burned as Audio CD's using either Apple's Itunes or Nero Burning software on windows. I have other cd's that I burned using CD-Record in Linux and they also work just fine.

I would be very happy to hear they are now using a CDRW compatible system now.

I tried a bulk CD-R on the 6 CD Changer of the test car and it worked fine.
Maybe a crack / patch for the CD Player to enable MP3 playing????.

work perfectly in the CD changer. Sometimes the labels applied to burned CD's make the disc too thick and therefore will not be accepted in the CD changer, i.e., will be immediately ejected or worse get stuck. My advice, if you burn your own, don't afix a label.
