Power folding exterior Mirrors on E class?

Does any of W211 have the power folding exterior Mirror feature? Do I need to set up the program on my smart key?

I been seeing new C's and S's Class mirror folds inner when you push the door lock button...Even Lexus does!

Thanks in advance!

That is not a USA option. Only Euro option but can be added easily to your car. It requires a new set of folding mirror frames and door switch. THe key itself does not need programming. The instrument cluster does need programming to enable auto folding menu.

They do in other countries (just like the reverse-tilting passenger mirror), but not on U.S. models. Presumably this is due to cost-cutting to get vehicle pricing down so Americans will be willing to buy a MB. However, MBUSA probably won't admit that reason...

Hey, did my buddy PM you about a set of folding mirrors for your car? I remember that you were looking for a set so I told him to get in contact with you. If not, shoot me a PM and I'll hook you guys up with each other.

All cool, but when you look at all the new C's, S's and SL's, they all have power tilt mirror and I simply don't understand why only E's doesn't...

From what i have read here, they should do it for free. You just have to find a dealership that is willing to give you some of their time. Power folding mirrors will cost you around $1000 though.

This is all dependent on your MY. In some it was available, it some it could be dealer enabled and in others it couldn't. There are numerous posts on this on MBW.

Actually the C dropped power folding mirror for 09. I don't think it's even an option. I guess MBUSA found out the cost was too high for that reason. Hell our W207 doesn't even allow to order PF mirrors. I did add that to our W210 though. I love that feature especially in a 2 car garage.

I've had a couple of 2008 C class loaner cars and they had PF mirrors, but you're right, my salesman said they deleted that from the 2009 C class. I wish I had it on our E wagon, as our garage is a bit tight, and I end up folding the mirrors by hand when we're not using the wagon for a few days.

Most Service Advisors/Drive Techs will do this for free (if they are knowledgable and if they know you well enough). Some will refuse to do it though (either because the tech you talk with doesn't know how, or doesn't want to risk it... it's a liability for them if something just happens to go wrong with your car and they blame it on the tech trying to do you a favor).

I know at least the tilting mirror can be enabled on U.S. 2007-2009 E-Classes... and probably earlier ones, but you should ask a knowledgable and experienced tech to see if it can be done.

All S and CLs (s coupes) have had the option since 92. The 03+ S, CL and SL let you have it fold every time you lock the car and unfold when you unlock.

They should all come with it. I have it on our 06 Yukon Denali and love it, especially since I have to park in tight mall spots sometimes.

Damn, they took it off the C? That sucks, that was a nice feature.

Well, I just noticed they offer 4-way lumbar for the driver as an option now for the C. It was about time.

Yes, I had it done right after I picked up my car (since I had them agree to it BEFORE I took posession of the vehicle... vehicles actually). Fletcher Jones - Newport Beach was where I had it done, and it only took about <5 minutes after the tech hooked up the computer to my car... but I don't know if they will do it for cars not purchased at their location or not. You can try them, but if they don't, you may have better luck going to the dealer you normally service with (since they're getting money from you on a regular basis anyway, they probably want to keep you happy and coming back to them).
