help rims not fitting right

Just got new set of e63 amg rims for my 2003 e500. the backs fit no problem but on the fronts the dust cover where the grease is on the front axle sticks out to far so the center hub cap cover dont fit. Is there a way to fix this. thanks

Are they true OEM E63 AMG wheels or are the rep's? Where did you purchase them? My guess is they're reps. I have OEM E63 P30 wheels and they fit with no problem.

The logo means squat. Alot, if not most reps will have the AMG stamp. The way to tell for sure is there is a MB symbol along side of an actual part number. It will probably start with A211......

Where did you buy them?

Only MB dealerships have access to OEM MB wheels. Your rim dealer in North Jersey sold you reps.

I thought you said that the fronts wouldn't fit? So how can they be on the car?

The AMG wheels from a 2003-2009 W211 will fit on a 2003-2009 non-AMG W211 without drama.

You bought them new? How much? This will tell you for sure if they're true OEM AMG wheels.

Those aren't E63 wheels. You should have purchased the set I am selling. True OEM E63 wheels with tires. Those look like stock W204 sport wheels.

I don't think I've ever seen those wheels on an E63 before. Again, how much were they? That will go a long way in figuring out if they're an OEM MB wheel.

For instance: My OEM MB E63 030 wheels retail for just shy of 10,000.00. Now, these are 2peice wheels and completely over priced, but you get the idea. But I don't think there is a set of any OEM MB wheels that will cost you less than 3000.00 for the set, if they're real. At first glance, they look an awful lot like these cheap reps:

A first clue should've been the fact that he shows a side pic with 19" tires on a E55. Second clue is the fact that he shows 2 different center caps. I'm with the rest, they appear to be replicas.

Again, not OEM wheels and not proper fitment. The problem you have is with the front wheel's offset. The offset is incorrect which is causing that little hub dust cover to intrude into the center cap's cavity, therefore not allowing it to snap in.

You can try to add a spacer. Depending on how much room you need inside that little cavity, you can purchase hub-centric spacers. Maybe a 3mm or 5mm will be enough for your needs. This essentially increases the offset of the wheel.

Depends. If all you need is 3 more mm, then your oem bolts will probably suffice. But, if you need 10mm or more, than yep...longer bolts.

Best to try to see if you can get your money back and buy proper wheels. I know it sucks, but these cars are already so finicky that anything you put them that's not a high quality or OEM part really pisses them off.

Actually it decreases the offset of the wheel.

low offset-wheel further out
high offset-wheel further in
