Help evaluating this E350

Shreveport, LA. Will be trading in my 2003 M5 72K miles. They have offered a fair trade-in value for my car, but the price listed on the internet add is what I was offered on the E350- noted that they reduced it from 36,977 a couple of days ago.

The car looks great in person. It is a lease turn-in, entered service 1/2007, and was locally owned - service records in order. Drove it today, very nice ride.

Any help evaluating this deal would be appreciated - I have been in BMW's all of my car-buying life, and have never dealt w/ MB, either used or new. Thanks in advance.

(For some reason I can't get this link to go directly to the car, but it is the 2007 E350 sport, black, stock # 9022P)

I'd consider holding on to the E39 if you can. Or at least selling it privately. The E39 M5 is a great automobile!

That said, you should consider the E550 over the E350. Coming from the E39 I think that you'd appreciate the V8 over the V6. Also you'll get leather, a better climate control system (with rear seat control), and adjustable air suspension. It looks like the dealer has an '07 E550 there, too.

I went from a V8 to an E350 and was disappointed. I ended up selling the E350 and got an E63.

The V8 is a smooth engine and with the 7 GTronic it all makes for a nice drivetrain.

I just bought my CPO 2007 E350 Sport 6 month ago, and decided to keep my 2005 BMW 330i, which I've had since new. Both cars are great to drive, but with starkly different attitudes. Solid, plenty of passenger room, 7spd auto is super smooth, easy to drive slowly, where 330 begs to be tossed around.

Hopefully, you're getting a low mileage with nav and some other goodies for 35K. Good luck!

I bought a nearly identical CPO E350 Sport (original delivery date April 2007) with the P2 package last month for $35,900 -- the only differences from the one above seem to be the dash wood (mine is burl walnut) and the mileage (mine had 27,000). I also purchased extended warranty coverage. I love driving this car after owning a series of Volvos for 15 years.

The E39 is a sick car all around. The E39 M5... amazing. If you can, keep the M unless there is a reason your are selling. Especially the 03 being the last year that car was produced.

Ready for a change - its been fun owning such an exclusive vehicle, but it is a seven year old vehicle, and I am a technology nut. I decided to go for a 2010 E 350 - honestly the M5 is great for driving hard, and a little less so for dropping 3 kids in 2 different car pool lines on my way to work every morning. I want something a little more refined. Not to mention that these cars become relatively expensive to own as they get older if used as a daily driver - absolutely chews up rubber not to mention brakes.

I have always been the kind of guy who remembers cars fondly and enjoys moving on as opposed to the kind of guy that holds onto one forever. I will say that as far as looks go, the E39 M5 beats the pants off the current generation E60 M5.

My idea behind the CPO E350 was a bridge to the next 5er, which is due out next year as a MY 2011 car. I sat in and drove the new E and was convinced to give it a try. I am presently trying to decide between an Arctic White Sport w/ special order natural beige leather/P2/AMG wheels and a Black Sport w/ Almond MB Tex/P2/Panorama roof.
