Replacement Wiper Blades

tbone,
Sorry, I don't have a part # for the Michelin's -- I usually just go into Walmart and pick up a pair of the 26" (non winter) -- I then take them apart (not in the store, but at home!) and take the MB OEMs apart and put in the new rubbers. I have the process down to a science -- it takes me about 15 mins to replace both wiper inserts. I pry off the MB wiper end cap with a very thin screwdriver, and then carefully lift up the small needle pin that holds the rubber in place, slide out the old one, slide in the new one -- a little silicone spray lube helps.
The PIAA refills are about $10 each (26" for MB is part # 94065).
Regards,
paul...

Thank you. I still think the tension/angle contributes more to the chatter than the blades. I will ask the dealer to take a look at this next time.

As important as what has been discussed is the conditioning of the windshield. Some substances (a la Rain-X) used to coat the windshield will generate the noisy wiper blade action.

Like JoeVal implies, the reason blades chatter is: 1) blade condition 2) windshield condition. It can be the arm assembly pressure if it's become out of whack, but it's primarily the two things above.....
fwiw, I clay bar and wax my windshield. I know it sounds weird, but I learned it from a detailer.
Here's the trick: clay bar using Stoner's invisible glass as the lube. Then wax the glass. Also wipe the blades with vinegar and then with rubbing alcohol. Replace blades every year if you live in a bad weather place and/or park your car outside.
I clay bar twice during the winter here (we get rain during the winter) I have never had an issue with the blades chattering on any car I've owned after doing this. MB, Porsche, BMW, Volvo.
It's amazing the amount of sticky and tiny rough crud gets on the glass. Just like the paint (and why you claybar paint.)
Here' a claybar glass kit (but any clay will work, just use the Stoners for the lubrication): http://www.autogeek.net/griots-glass-cleaning-clay.html
And forget using Rain-X, imho. I found it can make chatter actually develop.
Just my 2 cents.

I've never had to treat/clean the windshields on any of my other cars, nor have I had to change the blades so often. Getting back to the michelins...it rained today. It chattered slightly on the first few passes, then got quiet. I'll keep an eye on it

Guys I just changed mine for $7. go to advance auto parts and they have wiper blade refil which is just the rubber part, get size 26". get that for only $7, I think it says on it 26-28" so you can cut it for the existing length. now remove your old wiper. now you will need a plyer to remove the old rubber wiper from the assembly. once you remove the old one lay it side by side to the new one and cut the new one for this size. once cut you can insert the rubber refil to your existing assembly.
I just did mine and it works like perfect.

I picked up ANCO countour replacement blades at Autozone over the weekend. There was a manager's special for buy-one-get-one-free; two wiper blades for about $20. Installed in less than a minute and they've been working great all this week through the crazy CA rainstorms. No squeaking at all.

it fit the arm perfectly for me. just raised the old ones, pulled them out of the hole, put the new ones through the hole and that was it. I believe this bosch part is the factory part, since the one i had from the dealer said made in belgium on the center and had the bosch trademark symbol vs these say bosch instead, but i believe they are the same.
i think it was $33 and qualified for free super saver shipping. i ordered it thursday. it shipped out friday. i got it monday. the same part was $60 at the dealer for the set and $120 for the set for my CL500 even though it's the same length wiper blade.
the amazon web site even has a fit guide for which part number fits which cars. i found this one since it stated it would fit for e, sl, cls, etc. i also found another one for s, cl, and maybachs.

You are correct. I check AZ and found them ordered as you did the 3397118948. I confirmed the part number from the Bosch site as OEM parts.

jeez, don't even get me started on the stock market
Day 5 of the rains, and wipers are still good.
Does anyone know if there is a way an indy shop, vs a dealer, can adjust the wiper arm angle? Can they have access to the data? The wipers are perfect right now, but i'm just worried if the angle problem kicks in again. I don't want it messing up my new set of wipers.

Rain try surviving Katrina and I'll show you some rain. But I totally understand folks flooding in Arizona, we have family there.
Stock market,, what stock market?
Back on topic.
I found on AZ free shipping 5 - 9 days. So I selected the free shipping. Best price I found local on wiper blades was $50 for direct fit w adaptor.
I really don't like adapting something to fit unless it is duct tape on my sons 72 Chevy with a leak in the top rad. hose I told him to change. But that was 20 yrs ago.

Any Idea why the dealer's parts dept always asks for my VIN when I get wiper blades in addition to year and model? That would make it seem that depending on production date there are different wiper blades for the W211, as opposed to the one part number on the Bosch website and at Amazon?

Anco Advance blade was 8mm vs 4 mm for the oem.
@Clinton, apparently the Anco Profile has almost doubled in price since your post.

Walmarts, in my area, carry the Anco 31-26 @ $5.97 ea and the rubber insert removes easily and fit the oem blade perfectly. So far it is very quite-no more chattering.
Took 5 min to remove and install. As paulv stated in a previous post, silicone spray makes the job uber easy.
Edit : btw, I believe the Anco "Profile" blades have been renamed "Contour".
