Check Engine light HELP!
Anyhow, is there anyway to OBD read without a scanner? I know in my 02' Dakota I don't need a scanner to check computer codes, it's just a simple key trick. Tried it on the Merc but no luck, anything?

Get the code per above or if you want to diy get a scanner for your tool box. They are only 50 bucks at www.harborfreigt.com
It can be a loose cap(emissions system leak)
or a maf related code or if you have 100k miles on the car or more an oxygen sensor related code. You won't feel a lot of them but that does not mean they are not affecting performance or if ignored won't toast a cat converter.
Get the codes and post them. Do not go to the dealer,it can be resolved here.

-I got a 08 C300 4matic sport loaner, black/black, was a great car. I was impressed.
-I paid $0 for service, all under warranty. I ended up giving the worker $5 tip, and put $17 gas in the loaner (I drove it a lot)
-Dealer treated me GREAT, beautiful place & great people.
-They replaced and adjusted crankshaft sensor
-They replaced intake cam solenoid (forget which side)
-They left my battery on a charger overnight
Car is 100% tip top and I noticed it feels a bit more powerful, or peppy
