Brake replacement ?

I am looking to replace the rotors and pads on my 2005 E500 4matic. I want to go with slotted and drilled rotors, and low dust ceramic pads. Has anyone done this, and if so what brand did you use, and where can i purchase them? Thanks for any help in advance.

I replaced the pads on our E350 4matic wagon shortly after purchase, just to reduce the awful brake dust. I bought Porterfield R4s (carbon/kevlar) pads from www.formymercedes.com, and they eliminate around 90% of the brake dust that was driving me crazy. The difference is like night and day, and there are no adverse effects like noise, increase pedal pressure, etc. I can't really tell if there's any change in braking distance, as the car is never driven hard.

there are many stories of owners having problems with non-OEM rotors, so I would just stick with the OEM ones.

+1.

The OEM stuff will be proper spec although it may not have the eye candy appeal of being slotted, drilled, frozen and so on. The stock brakes have more than enough capacity unless you're racing and if you're racing a non-AMG 211 you should probably stop. on a problem continuum of maybe warping at one end and a rotor blow up at the other, stock is probably a good idea.

Take a look at the OEMs for the W211 4Matic Sport (Model). That'll get you drilled/slotted for the fronts anyway.

Thanks for the help, i ordered the poterfield brake pads, and went to mercedes and bought new rotors, and sensors. My brother in law is the parts manager, so the price was right. Hopefully this will get rid of the brake dust problem. Thanks again.

I just bought Akebonos from Tirerack but did not order rotors; mine still look like new. I hope it works out.
