Talking Picking up an E320 Sport on Friday! Did I do okay?

Well, I had a change of heart after I drove one, and decided to bite the big one and get a E320 Sport. I tried an E500 and decided that the price difference was too painful.

So, here is what I landed:

2003 E320 Sport
Jade Black / Charcoal
E2: Sunroof & Sound
E3: Sport package (bi xenons, washers, birds eye maple, skirts, etc.)
E5: Heated Seats
Auto-trunk closer

Paid $53000
3500K down
$600/mo 36 mo lease

What do you think? Okay deal? I suppose I could still backout. I don't pick up the car until Friday. (Although I am sure they would hate me if I did.)

You can get more discount press the dealer, you are leasing so they make more money from the credit corp than regular financing. I heard others got invoice if they leased, and others got a few hundred over invoice for financing.

i think the deal is reasonable. i am sure someone had paid more or less with similar options. i have pretty much the same options but got the CD changer instead of the auto-trunk closer. don't even know the auto-trunk closer was an option. i paid a bit less than you but with the luxury tax at that time it pretty much even out. i pretty much sure i could get away with the so call processing fee but the sales person was so nice, it was getting dark and i just wanted my car.

one option i do wish i have gotten was the wood steering wheel. after spending the money on the car just don't want to go back and pay the $700 for this option. and you know what the spouse would say - "why would you want to pay $700 to change it since it is so new..." well, can argue that but just need to pick my battle wisely.

anyway, enjoy your car.

Its not a stellar deal - I know that. It seemed like an OK deal to me. But there is only one MB dealership in Portland, Oregon and they don't move much on price. If I had gone up to Seattle I probably could have saved $1000 or so.

One thing I forgot to mention is that it does have the CD changer and the rear sunshade.

The other good thing is that there is no sales tax in Oregon. So, a price of 53K is 53K. No tax in there at all.

As for the wood wheel. Yeah, I might consider that. The dealership had a E320 on the lot with the wood steering wheel and it was nice. Maybe I'll make that a birthday gift.

No sales tax??? You lucky guy! I paid 8.25% sales tax here in Southern California--well over $4,000!

was '03 E320 - now - '04 S4
Our sales tax up here is a beotch. 8.8% in Seattle! If you do buy a car up here, you obviously are going to be exempt from the sales tax. Just show your Oregon ID.

My E320 gets delivered (hopefully!) today. Black/Stone E2, leather and heated seats. I'm sworn to secrecy on the price (but it was very aggressive, since the car was in stock)

I don't think any of the Seattle/Bellevue/Tacoma/Olympia/Bellingham dealers have a single sport package E320 in stock. (I've called them all...)

Yeah - I called Tacoma MB. They have a pretty big stock of cars. But no e320 sports. I think they had 1 E500 sport in white. I hate white.

I could have gotten it without tax, but they didn't seem very friendly. My sales guy here in Portland is really nice. If anybody wants to buy a car in Portland, go see Perry Thompson at MB of Portland. He is very professional and friendly. Tell him Andrew sent you.

Andrew:

Sorry for the delayed reply. Residual in 12/31/02 was 69% and money factor was .00285 (high, but residual was sooooo good):p

Selling price was 51,182. 3K off the retail price.

First off, yours must have had less options. I looked up the invoice on mine and it was just over 52K and I bought it for 53K.

Second, your numbers don't work out. Assuming 7% sales tax, payments would be more like $690 a month with 0 down.

Try it yourself at: http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm

That is a good residual, however. My residual isn't that good. It was like 60%. That probably is because Benzes aren't in as high demand in Oregon as they are in NYC.

I paid my taxes up front, DMV fees, etc. 0 Cap Cost. I have the lease paperwork in my hand and my car has the E2 E3 Heated Seats, non-metallic black paint/char. 608.80/month, 39 months, 12K/yr- walked out paying $3,4XX (taxes, etc.)

Ahh, well, there are some differences here.

My E320 has metalic paint ($655)
Trunk closer: ($475)
CD changer: ($400)

Plus, I have a 36 month lease, not 39.

I suppose if you paid the taxes and everything upfront, it would be about that.

2004 E350? (Awaiting Order)
Question

Sir;

May we ask where you got your car from? The salesperson name would be nice too? Also, did you buy from stock or or special order?

Thanks.

P.S. I see a trip to NYC in my future, maybe.
