Smile perhaps an alternate to COMAND

Alrighty, COMAND is cool and all, but if it's not available for retrofit for the april build 211's, this may be a good alternative....

i personally think that touchscreen is what's missing from the MB Nav.....or it'd be nice to have both button and touchscreen options......

I agree - you should have a touch screen and also buttons. However, to install this unit, you would have to trash the whole installed audio system - not too cool. However, it makes you wonder if an after market unit can be this nice, why not the MB Comand? How hard could it be?

I bought the Magellan Nav 750M. It is not as nice as a built in nav, but it works very well. It is transportable from car to car. It provides directions by voice and a screen for maps. A hard drive is used to store information for most of the USA.

MAGELLAN

I had the Command in a previous vehicle. I also experienced the Magellan in a rentral car. By far the Magellan seemed to be more accurate and most importantly much more comprehensive to use. Never had to read a manual.

I had the command also. The Magellan address entry is far superior and faster than Command. Route finding is about the same. I like the directional arrow on the screen better in the Command.

I have not mounted it. I use the voice commands 95% of the time. I pick up the hand unit on the rare occasion I need to see the map. Magellan web site has many mounting options.
