2005 E500 wagon 4matic w/ very high ride height

Greetings,
Did a search and found a couple of things but I have a question.
My E500 4matic wagon has a warning in the display: a car symbol with an up arrow.
I understand this is an Airmatic warning.
The front ride height is exceptionally high and the ride quality in general is poor.
I read a thread where it was suggested to take a look at the wiring to the pressure relief valve in the driver's side wheel well.
My question to all you experts is this:
Does my diagnosis seem correct?
Does anybody have comments/experience with specially addressing the pressure relief valve?
Any other comments suggestions would be helpful.

in order to close this out and help somebody in the future here's the resolution.
Removed the front fender liner on the driver's side front wheel. Located the connector to what I believe is the pressure relief valve on the airmatic pump and immediately noticed the ground wire was severed.
Very, very, very poor design. As a mechanical engineer in the automotive world and I can only hope that I don't do something as stupid as make a wire 1cm too short. Overall, the car is fantastic but a stupid little failure like this sure is cause for concern.
Come on Mercedes.........
Anyway, rant over.

Soldered in a "jumper" wire, made sure to cover the joints with shrink wrap tubing and buttoned it all up. We'll see how long it holds up.

Attached is a pic of the severed ground wire right at the connector. Hopefully the attachment is viewable.

Now that the wire issue is fixed the "button" works.....
Additionally, the ride height was exceptionally high.
The "button" only raises ride height (on a functioning airmatic system) about 15 mm. The ride height of my car with the severed signal wire was at least +100 mm from normal ride height. It was exceptionally high, ride quality was exceptionally poor. The shock was easily at full extension.

Afraid so...

How many days should a healthy system keep pressure?

Looks like I am half way down after 24 hours and all the way down after 48 hours.

Seems to be left front, but also some on the right front.

Got an extended "Total Care" Warranty, but there is some disclaimer about air suspension..
