(Must admit I have not studied the COMAND manual on the above subject, perhaps I already have it built in?)
Scroll through your cluster with the steering wheel buttons and you will see it. If you don't have a set route the menu I'm talking about will show you N E S or W. If you have this your cluster display is version coded, if not you might wanna do that!

Roger on that Mr. S.

How do ya version code the system?

Will play with the buttons when I get home.
Now in a hotel room in some Banana Rebublic South of the border, but will activate a route home from the airport tomorrow.

The indie that I use in our area has one and he won't charge the $130 that MBFTL does. If you want the info, let me know

x2

A local independent shop I use to go to, has an SDS machine. Which greatly helped when diagnosing issues with the car

Yeah good idea, I should make frineds with an indie shop and should have the wagon hooked up to an SDS for the occasional testing. Also coming up on a B service and I am sure the indie will be less expensive than MBFTL...

Speaking of the Dealer: Got a flyer in the mail promising free wash, free nitrogen fill and free diagnostic every Sunday....

Sounds like they are hurtung for business and dying to hook up the SDS to the car so as to diagnose repairs?

There is more than one private SDS owner posting in this thread already, they are not uncommon at all among MB enthusiasts.

Okay found it...Quite useful and that means I am version coded..?
(Still not sure what version coded is, but it sounds good..)

Now, is there as screen or a command or a tricks to show the Total Milage to go, not just to the next intersection.....?

Version Coded means nothing more than that you told the different modules that there is something new in the car and that it recognizes it.

About the second question, You would see that in your COMAND screen how many more miles you have to drive until you reach your destination.

Okay Mr. Machhack, will look for it.

As for the zip code entry we discussed earlier:

It is just not on my system.
Would it show up with the software update...?

Does anybody else have a zip code option on the W211 COMAND/Nav system?

All your help is much appreciated and I will ceraintly buy the beer...

(Or free flying lessons, your choice..)

When you go to enter the Town, there is a soft button on the right side that says P.Code (Postal Code), press it and it allows you to enter the zip code instead of having to enter the town.

Never seen that soft button that says P.code and I have been looking pretty hard for it...

I must have a different version software or something...

Yup, I got all them buttons and use 'em on a regular basis, but there is not a P.code prompt anywhere to be seen on the screen, never was...

You must have a different version, OR and update I don't have..Yet.
