H&R Sport Springs Help...

Just had my W211 lowered with H&R Sport Springs that were installed exactly 1 week ago. I was informed that the car would drop another 1/2 inch or so because the car had to "set". I was also told that the front end would drop a lil more than the back end after it "set"

The front end seems about 1/2" higher than the rear end and am wondering if it would even out after the "set".

Anyone know...
  1. Approximately how long it takes to "set"?
  2. If the front end ends up 1/2" inch higher then the rear end, what is the best way to even out the drop?
    1. Cut the front springs a bit?
    2. Change the pad in front or back to even it out?
Thanks in advance.

Can't help you with your questions but wanted to say that your drop looks awesome. Nice stance!

Did you remove the pads from the front struts. This is typically necessary to create an even drop all the way around. I have H&R's also.

Pads...

No idea. Didn't bother to ask the group that did the install for me.

Happen to know how long it takes a car to set after dropping with H&R Sport Springs? Heard the car would lower a bit more because the car had to "set".

Just curious if after the set things would even out.

Is ist possible that the car was lowered correctly?

The wheel housing of the front axle is cutted a little bit wider from MB than at the rear axle. So it looks a bit strange .... but it can be correct.

I think, it can take about 6 month until the car is "set".

Never cut the springs !!!

Cosinus

Wheel housing...

Thanks.

No I was told by others that the H&R Sport Springs usually sits lower in the rear than the front w/ the W211 install.

yes and no

The front springs are often longer and softer than the springs for the rear.
If there are two persons sitting in the car the front will lower a bit more and the car will be horizontal.

But I currently do not know the details for the sedan.
I used H&R in my S211.

I bought mine used from a member. They were already broken in so no setling for me. H&R claims that you should get a 1.6" drop in the front and 1.4" drop in the rear to help compensate for the seemingly larger gap in the fornt of these 211's.

Not sure how long it should take to set, but from what I researched it sounds as though most everyone ends up removing the shims from the front struts to drop the front a little more.

From what I can see in your sig though, the dorp looks pretty good.

H&R springs

Besides installing the springs, did you people did something to the control arms or control arm bushings to keep the camber in correct range. I am planning to put H&R or EIBACH Pro spring kit, but I want to do everything right from the beginning.
Thanks

a toy
H&Rs sit slightly higher in front, I've seen that many many times. Cut a coil and it will sit right.

Here was mine lowered with Eibach...

First pic was a day after the drop, the second was a week later.
