So Clayton, how about an update on the repair ? All done to your satisfaction ?
[fingers crossed]Mine's been in the shop since 5/03 and I'll get it back the end of this week.[/fingers crossed]
Btw, aftermarket Hella Bi-Xenon w/active cornering Click here . Ignore the incorrect picture.

Totally forgot. Car came out excellent. The only thing is the new lamp is a quite bit cleaner than the driver side one. I'll need to buff the other lens to bring it even with the new one. The headlamps are different colors now, but the dealer assures me that over time, they'll level out. Something about a 100 hour break-in....
Bottom line was $7800.00
That link you sent is interesting. I, and my insurance company looked all over the place for a replacement headlight. We found the normal bi-xenon readily available for 700-900, but nobody carried the active cornering ones. Some places stated they did, but when I called, they stated the website was incorrect.
Anyway, thanks for checking in. Good luck with yours. I had mine back in a week.
**EDIT**
Just saw that you said "aftermarket". Since it was an insurance claim, they adjuster assured me that only OEM parts would go back on the car.

That site is where my shop got the light and Hella certainly is oem "equivalent". In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if they supply MB.
Bottom line for my repair is $ 6700......and nobody got hurt.

Replaced the xenon lamp on my ML last year through the dealer and they said the same thing. New one is very yellow, still. After pressing, the response was basically to replace the other so they match. Hope yours even out.

Yeah. I don't expect them to level out. The car is 2004 with 96K miles on it, with the DRLs on, it's entire life. The original one has a slight blue(ish) hue to it, whilst the new one has more of a white/yellowish tone to it. I will say, the new one appears to be much brighter. I'll just replace the original one when I polish the lens cover. No biggy.

Oops, I lied. It was 9 days, not a week.
Repairs like this go quickly when they're replacing parts. My insurance company (Erie Insurance) was beyond quick, with this claim. No lie, I had a check in my mailbox from them, before I even took the car to the body shop. They came by my house, did and estimate and stroked me a check, before I even setup an appt at the body shop. Once at the body shop, the price went up and my insurance company stroked them another check for the difference. They also set me up in a Mercedes loaner. Couldn't have been any easier.

Got mine back yesterday afternoon and the same deal with the Xenon's.
Wish I had removed the bulbs from the original one, before I took it in.
Can't say I'm totaly pleased with the results. Hood is misaligned enough so that it's very noticeable. Easy fix I suppose but another trip back to the shop next week. New fog lamp has some kind of "painted" line on the inside of the lens (1/4" wide, 1 1/2' long) How the hell does that happen?
