P2 package includes satellite radio.. but system claims it isn't present
Just bought a 211 that has the P2 package (2007). SAT radio is supposedly included, but when I switch to it, it says not available. Do I only need to subscribe to activate it, or has someone removed an essential piece of harward required for it? Will a simple software update via the STARTECH system fix it? I'm not too concerned about it, but it DOES have the shark fin, and according to MBUSA SAT radio is included in the P2, so I just want to find out what steps I need to take to enable it.
Thanks!

When you switch to SAT, it should auto go to the "weather" channel I think .. which repeats the weather and information that you need to subscribe. This is in a 2008, which should be the same as your 2007.
Yes, you need to subscribe unless the previous owner paid for lifetime and left it on there.

It should have the Sirius radio part of it. Turn on your head unit, then press the "SAT" button then the "Service" button by the screen. It should display the Sirius toll free no. and the ESN. I had somewhat similar problem six months ago. Dealership ended up reprogramming/replacing my ESN (don't know what they did) but it's been great. Make sure you're a Sirius subscriber.

Alright, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing hardware that was supposedly there per the original window sticker. It doesn't say "acquiring satellite signal" it just says not available or something similar. I've had Sirius before and prefer my ipod , but it's nice to know that if I happen to feel so inclined in the future, I can just subscribe again.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
When you're listening to an "unsubscribed" satellite radio (Sirius/XM), you should be able to hear audio from the "unsubscribed" channel (I think it's channel 1 is you're not subscribed, and if you are it's something like top 40 hits, can't remember) and as mentioned before, the weather channels.

When you get the radio working on the SAT channel don't overpay when you call Sirius to activate your radio. I paid $58.79 for a full year a couple of weeks ago. Don't give them a credit card. Tell them to invoice you. That way they can't re-up you at the full rate when your subcription expires. Might be a lot cheaper next year.

when I switch to SAT on the COMMAND system, it just says "No satellite radio". No options for a demo channel or anything.
I have the antenna.. so what could I be missing?

Saw this thread (https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...y-07-e350.html ) perhaps I'm actually having a glitch. I supposedly have a new DVD Nav disc coming to me, would the firmware upgrade that's included fix this?

So the Comand is not seeing the satellite tuner then. Could it be a software glitch that may be fixable with a software update? Sure.
But if it's a hardware problem, like a bad fiberoptic cable, or a bad electronic component, then no. 99.9% of the time software won't fix hardware problems.

Are you sure you have the satellite antenna? The antenna on the rear window is for the nav system and the emergency call button. The satellite antenna would be a little puck either mounter on the roof, or in the "plastic" trunk lid.

You seem do not nave sitellite radio. If you had, then you should find a unit number in option menu used for getting subscription. It looks the feature is a part of P2 since 08.

I definitely have the antenna on the back of the roof, not the glass. It's the P2 package, but a MY07.

Thought I posted this on this thread but accidentally put it on a thread on TOB ...
Just ran the VIN through the EPCnet program, and the car came with option code: 536 - Sirius complete system. The car is at the dealer getting a warranty repair on a door lock actuator, so I'll try to call them tomorrow morning to check into my missing satellite option.
One thing I should mention.. the car came without a Nav disc, but the dealer I purchased it from ordered a new one and it's being sent to me. Could having an empty NAV drive have anything to do with it?

Once I get the car back from the dealer today I'll check for that. The bluetooth puck was missing, so it wouldn't surprise me, although I would have expected the receiver to be worth less since it also requires the antenna and accompanying wiring.
