I HATE SCAMMERS and SCUM BAGS!

Below is a response I received to my ad for my sport wheels on Craig's list. I hope these "people" get whatever is coming to them!

The price and conditions of this item are all okay so I wanna like to make an outright purchase of this particular item immediately. cos of the urgent need of it and we wanna get it as soon as possible, I anticipate that a Certified Check will be sent to you via express mail or UPS or FedEx as the mode of payment, concerning the pickup, I’m gonna be responsible for that, where the mover will come for the pick up at your location upon your confirmation of receiving the payment and I wanna tell you to remove this item from the ad now. So I will send the payment which will include the pick up charges, in which you will make payable to the mover via Money Gram/Western Union immediately after you have receive the payment and you will be compensated with $50 extra for your running around to the Money Gram/Western Union outlet to avoid the delay. And I would really love to come for the viewing but due to my work frame that might not be possible....and I will like you to provide the following payment information below as soon as possible;
full name..............
Full home address (physical
City................
state...............
zip code............
tel#............

As soon as this is provided I will let you know when payment is mailed out and I will update you on when you will receive the payment and give you instructions on what to do....
thanks an hope we gonna handle this in good faith......

Thanks

I know,

Craigslist can be very shady. I have sold many things on there, but I guess if it sounds to good to be true it is! I would only deal locally. Karma is definitely a BEE so they will get it!

Wow that is ridiculous. I am glad that you are perceptive enough to recognize that as a scam. I have to laugh when I get these types of emails. They can be pretty creative sometimes. I like the exiled persian princess ones....

If you want some fun, then send them on a wild goose chase. Look here for some entertaining tips: http://www.quatloos.com/brad-c/directory01.htm

Probably won't do any good but I would call the local sheriff and pass the information on.

If he contacts me again I'm turning his email address over to Craig's List and any other enforcement agency (LOL) that I can find. I also received another inquiry from a more sophisticated scammer and just ignored that one. This is the last time I'll post on Craig's List.

I'm surprised that he didn't ask you for your SSAN & Visa.

Sorry, but this stuff happens all the time. CL even has a warning about it. I think we're all not so naive and can simply ignore it and go on with life. Call the cops? Yeah, like they care or have the time to do anything.

This is a very traditional Nigerian scam. Nothing new here. Anytime you list anything for sale on one of the major outlets like Craigslist, Autotrader.com, Cars.com, you'll get inundated with these types of emails.

they say at least 1 to 2 out of 10 people fall for this stuff. email costs nothing so from a scammers point of view, not a bad deal. besides, most of the email addresses they use are stolen/hacked.

When I was looking for a cheap car for my son last year, I got these long stories about not being in town and having a car shipped, and having it guaranteed and separating my money from my wallet.

Just about every car in Craigslist that sounds too good, you will get one of these sad responses. After a while, you can see em comin.

Every time I received one of those emails I copied and pasted my usual response which included their birth, mother, father, local fisherman, and hygiene amongst other things. It would **** them off to the point they would actually respond to me with threats. I loved it. Then sometimes I would screw with them as if I was a serious buyer and take it as far as I could go negotiating items as the color of the tires, polish hue of lug nuts, etc....Since they are in another country, whacking them in the head with a bat and putting their genitals in a grinder is not an option for me. This is how thieves should be treated. Put it up on PayPerView and it will pay for the cost associated.

LOL, it must be the same person as I receive the same which is why I only use a Yahoo account that I created specifically for that purpose. It could have 10k and it would not bother me.

I've sold several inexpensive items on Craigs List with no problems. However, I don't allow them to display my email address -- I just put my phone number in the ad. When I was selling my car last summer on Cars.com and Ebay, I created a special temporary email address which I deleted after the car was sold. That avoided getting my permanent email address on spammers' lists.

Ebay is just as bad. Not only scamming buyers but sellers also. Both sites are known by law enforcement as the largest fencing operations.
