Help -- tire question
less than 1k miles on the car since I bought it,, 2007 E350 4matic, and this happens to the front tire....
is this repairable? Or am i looking at a new tire?

Not repairable. Some may say to use a rubber glue. But you also got another cut next to it. Stay away from curbs, especially if they have sharp objects sticking out of them.

A new tire... and they're creeping up in price. They used to be 1/2 as much as a new wheel... no more. Shop on line & have it shipped.

The big piece is only in the curb protector part of the tire and did not cut the inner cord. The crack is another matter. I the cord is not exposed from the crack it is probably ok. If the cord is exposed I would consider replacing the tire. It is about 50/50 on saving the tire. Super glue waste of time because it won't flex with the rubber and fracture the bond. Cut the free piece of rubber off. But look for how deep the crack is cut.
