Do the E350's have real leather?
I've been read alot on this site about the e350's and some poeple say that e350's dont come with leather, only the E500's.
What do they mean?
What else would it be other than leather?
Is it cheap leather or something? lol

Figure it out, genius (no pun intended to your username... ok, maybe a little pun). amdeutsch is just trying to be nice and tell you to look around a little bit before you ask questions that have likely been asked (and answered) before.

It is correct, leather is standard for E550. And also available for extra cost for E350. All E350 have MBtex (vynil), unless leather is ordered as a package. Since MBTex looks similar to leather, people can confuse them. For quick and relibale way to say the car has leather package just look at leather at door inserts. If it is wrinkled, then it is leather, otherwise is vynil

Just as another fyi, from model years 2003-2006 the E320 and E350 had leather seating inserts. Meaning that the perforated portion of the front seats only I believe, were actual leather. For the facelift in model year 2007 they switched to all MB Tex.

But forums are made to ask questions/have a conversion and get quick answers back. Somedays i dont have alot of time to research/ look around a little bit more.

Why did they go back to MBtex?
Do all S class, have leather? or do you also have the option to get mbtex?

at least with the 04 and 05s, if you got appearance package on the 320 gasoline versions (don't know about diesels), it would give you full leather (like mine).

Correct, I should have clarified Leather has always been an option on the 6 cylinder E-Class, it's just the standard upholstery that has varied over the years. On the W210, leather was standard on all gasoline variants, optional on the E300 Diesel.

All S-Class in the U.S. have Leather standard. There is optional Premium Leather available on the S400 Hybrid and S550 which is Semi-Aniline Leather. The S600, S65 AMG and designo package S-Class have "Exclusive" Semi-Aniline Leather standard. Exclusive means there is just more Leather (covering the door panels, dash etc.) I think the S63 AMG also has some form of Premium Leather as well.
I think MB Tex is only available on the S350 in Europe. I suspect because a lot of them are used for car services over there.
Update: I checked the MB Deutschland website and I couldn't find any MB Tex option for the S-Class. I thought I had seen that in the past, maybe they discontinued the option at the Facelift.

they probably went to full leatherette cause it was 1) cheaper and 2) easier to manufacturer.
i think i remember seeing cloth S classes in taiwan but they were like W220 S300 or something like that.
