BEST Brake Pads (RACE) available?

I am looking to replace my front brake pads with the highest performance RACE pads (or closest to race I can find). So braking, high heat treshold and minimal brake fade under extreme conditions is total priority over longevity, brake dust, brake noise, and value.

They will be used at Laguna Seca Raceway under full race conditions; so braking from 115mph to 65mph on the front strait (decelerating as fast as possible), as well as 12 other corners from ~90mph to ~65mph EVERY lap. So performance is king. I have done some research, so please let me know if you have any past experience or other recomendations:

Tire rack has Akebono ceramic pads, but I have heard they are more for less dust than they are for performance.

OEM Pads from the dealer are actually really good, and I can swing over to the parts department for $75, but I need something better. And just so you know I did run with these for the last trackday, and the brakes felt good.

2004-2005 Mercedes Benz E320 - EBC Front Brake Pad Set - Yellowstuff - Kevlar - looks like the best one so far, they are designed for RACE and they are somewhat expensive.

2004-2009 Mercedes Benz E320 - EBC Front Brake Pad Set - Redstuff - Ceramic - ceramic is always what you hear is the best!?

So right now I am veering towards the EBC yellowstuff Kevlar pads. But I am still somewhat undecided. Again this is all about performance. Please let me know what you think.

Porterfield pads

I use their street pad (#R4-S) and they make racing versions also -- check them out (the R4-S pads were $120/axle).

Look into Porterfield, Carbotech and Hawk.

You are going to melt your brake pad wear sensors and destroy your street tires, maybe you already know that.

Interesting, I had the same problem with the porterfields R4S squeaking alot. But after 10K miles, there's no squeaking at all. I'm now at 30K miles and the pads are about 50% worn down and there no squeaking. So it took a long time to break-in.

The rear tires alone were $700, and they held up really well. Soft, sticky compound that did well on high heat, although they did feel like burning rubber after each run. I know the trade off is that they will most likely last only 8k-12k miles.

The Porterfield Kevlar pads look to be the best option I see. The noise is not an issue at all as brake performance is the main thing I'm looking for, and if the break-in is 10k miles, well maybe I will wear that amount down after this track event

Pagid Yellow or Orange if they make the proper pads for your car. Laguna is not that bad. There is really one heavy braking zone going into Turn 2 and then you have some moderate braking going into Corkscrew and that's basically. About 8 years ago, I took a Mercury Sable station wagon when my track car fried its wheel bearing and it survived without brake fade and warping the rotors, so you will be fine.... Remember slow in, fast out. Also watch out for Turn 4, people tend to put two tires on the dirt and then over correct and end up on the inside wall. Also coming off turn 9 is off camber and you have to it just right or you will find yourself buried in the sand out there.

If you don't have a good tow hook, get one. And finally, I hope you are not using the 20 inch wheels at Laguna. It is smoother than it used to be, but still will have issues if you hit the curbs too hard.
