It's a straight plug and play application so you just pull out the stock wedge bulb from the socket behind the headlight housing, and plug the new LED straight in.

Hmm, are you supposed to turn it into a certain direction and then pull it out? I tried tugging on it but it won't come out. It's also a very tight fit in there, I have bloody knuckles all over lol.

You mean the the socket? It might just be tight because of dirt/debris. I believe it's a twist pull if memory serves. Try twisting it to loosen it, maybe some WD40, but be careful where you spray as you don't want to get it on the inner lens.

I got some other LED 194 bulbs that were allegedly CANBUS compatible but they didn't jive in my car. So, I ordered some from AZN Optics, the v5 5k temp yesterday. It appears these will be the ones that actually work, I'm curious on the brightness comparison.

You might say these are brighter than a standard 194 bulb, by a lot.

Picture of the lights can be very misleading.
How about picture of the reflections on wall or door?

I didn't take such a pic before or after, and while the lighting is different, here's what I had in there.

What I can tell you is the original bulbs that were in there, seen in the picture, were barely bright enough to see reflecting on my garage door while the new ones are bright enough to illuminate the door.

Looks to me that you are talking about front marker lights.
City lights aka low beams are outer lamps on those cars.
Not to offend our sponsor, but I bought error free LED marker bulbs for fraction of the cost on ebay.

Respectfully, you're mistaken. Marker lights are the side lights in the amber housing on the bumper. City lights are not the low beams. City/parking lights are the small 194 wedge bulb in the inner housing. This is defined by Mercedes part specs as well as oem bulb replacement guides (Sylvania and Philips).

As for competitor products, there are lots of canbus units on the market, but pricing comes down to chip quality and embedded components. Ours use the latest in COB based SMDs with constant current IC chip. There are other proprietary components in our design as well, but I assure you they are competitively priced for the quality. Then there's total lumens you also have to look at.

You are correct, the low beams are on the outside, and you might notice they aren't lit up.

I also got some error free lights for a fraction of the cost (almost half, and 640 lumen), and they error'd and didn't work properly. Moral of that story, just because they are error free doesn't mean they are 100% compatible. Rather specifically, the ones I got said "may not work on SOME Mercedes vehicles".

The 194's from AZN Optics I was willing to pay more for because of three things. I was very confident of compatibility, they don't look stupid (bulb exposed in the housing), and over 1,000 lumens. I found some LED's that were cheap and claimed compatibility but were 160-200 lumens, at which you may as well just get a regular Silverstar bulb.

I drive with those cheaper LED marker bulbs for almost a year and not only they don't create errors, but they quiet the ghost error I was getting with original MB bulb.
That error I had was what pushed me into the change as I did not like yellowish markers next to bright white headlights.
Light nomenclature is another story.
I check Wikipedia and those lights are called "Front position lamps". I know them as marker lights.
"City lights" is used in some countries to describe low beam, what in other countries is called short lights.
I always get kick out of them when being in other country the dictionary turns out useless as it can translate the word, but will not translate the logic.

For the record... this is in the owner's manual so we're all on the same naming convention

Michael - Yesterday (Sunday) I placed a order for your 5k HID kit and a set of the V5 w5w bulbs.
I currently have another vendors (not from this site) HID kit and the left side always took time to start, and the right side just stopped all together a couple of days ago. I am hoping for better performance with your kit.

Your order was shipped out today. Morimoto HID kits are one of the best in the market which is why we decided to offer them to our customers. There are lots of cheaper alternatives already out there, but after reviewing the engineering behind Morimoto, we felt it hit the right spot between quality and price. Feel free to hit us up if you have any further questions.

Installed today, I'll post pictures as soon as I get a chance to upload them, including a few tips for other first-time installers.

Looks great! Now I just need the Morimoto kit to match!

Are there any can bus options for these that have a single LED, preferably projector style?

You mean just a single forward facing diode?

Yeah maybe something like this:

Amazon.com: NEW 2x T10 Samsung Projector 6 LED White Super Bright Car Light Bulb 194 168 2825 W5W L70 @ 147, 152, 158, 159, 161, 168, 184, 192, 193, 194 2881 Compare To Sylvania Osram Phillips Amazon.com: NEW 2x T10 Samsung Projector 6 LED White Super Bright Car Light Bulb 194 168 2825 W5W L70 @ 147, 152, 158, 159, 161, 168, 184, 192, 193, 194 2881 Compare To Sylvania Osram Phillips

or this:

Amazon.com: Philips 194 Bright White Interior Vision LED light, 2 Pack: Automotive Amazon.com: Philips 194 Bright White Interior Vision LED light, 2 Pack: Automotive

Ideally something with a little less brightness and non visible diode since you can see this bulb so clearly. The above links are just for reference, neither will work without error in this car.

Ok, those. That just helps with light dispersal and spread that would mainly be useful if you have a single SMD. That chip you linked needs a projector because there's only one single directional SMD. Our V5 unit uses split dual layer SMD which resolves the dispersal issue and gives you more lighting as the housing reflectors can capture the spread.

Do you have the fog lights in an LED? I would love to match the city lights and HID conversion I have, they look so weak and yellow.

Unfortunately we don't currently stock 9006 in LEDs, just HIDs if you wanted to do a conversion.
