lousy job IMHO, they moved the controls below the screen and the unit. Mind you the cheap white leather and you lost all the wood.. plus you lost the ashtray and what have you.. Also, no longer you can use the controls on the steering wheel.. Too much to pay just for nav.. Wait and get a unit from MB.

Lousy implementation of a great idea.
Part of the appeal of the MB Navi is that everything works together. Steering wheel controls, Voice Control, Phone, Navigation, CD Changer, Radio... its all integrated unlike another solution which will have separate interfaces for everything.
Oh well.... you cant have it all i guess.

I guess I agree that it does not look too good.
My solution is to have the screen (from my Alpine system) flush mounted into the driver sunvisor. I can live without a mirror.
Yes, it will only be visable when the visor is "down" but that is fine. I hope to get that started this week (or next at the latest).
I will try to post photos when it gets done.

If I were to do a 3rd Party mod...
I would have the following:
- 3 Widescreen (16:9) displays: Dash, 2 in rear
- HDTV tuner
- DVD changer
- Component and Composite Inputs
- Xbox
- Independent source control for each display
- COMAND integration
To me, anything short of this would not be worth modifying.

I guess I'm the only one who likes how it looks. It matches your steering wheel quite nicely. It doesn't have the "factory" look, but it's still pretty attractive. The screen looks a BIT too big, and I'm pretty sure that must've cost you a pretty penny

no way its a balla
its just another low rent 'pimpin' jackass. I bet there's a decal with a guy pissing or a sticker that says 'ain't skeered' somewhere.
