20,000 miles service cost
Hi, new member.
Just had 20,000 mile service on my 2005 MB E320 Sport (yes i know super low miles, i have 2 other vehicles), and the dealer which i have allways serviced this vehicle with charges me $480.00.There were no warnings or problems with the car just requesting service C.
Did i get ripped off or is this normal for MB service costs.Past services have ran from $250 to $300 tops.
Thanks in advance for any amswers.

Dealers here typically charge $200 to $250 for an oil change. Most indy shops charge $130 or less. What else was done to your car beside oil change? Air filters? Brake fluid change? I do all of these simple maintenance myself and have no idea how much the dealers charge for services B, C, D, E or whatever.

Did a search and generally this is what a service C consists of. Pretty basic items. I am pretty sure a big chunk of your cost was due to labor.

There is a service sheet which the dealer should have provided you with that shows items that are done due to miles an due to time.
e.g. pano roof service is every 3 yrs (not milage based), etc.
So even though you only have 20,000 miles, its a 5yr old car ..

Thanks for the quick replies guys, checked my worksheet today and it got lots of tech notes and numbers, basically service C was performed along with wiper blade change ($85 LOL) and lots of checks.I have a heavily optioned car and the service advisor said lot of it needs to be checked each time.Still feel ripped off though because they only had the car for 2 hrs.
My other car is a BMW 09 M3 and even though it has the perverbial 50,000 mile service warranty, you really have to argue to get anything done which BMW is trying to save money until your warranty runs out.My heart sinks everytime i go in for service and you hand your keys to some stoner teen who looks like he would sell his mother for $5.Then you look at the service bay and see most of the "workers" joking around or standing around talking.
Just a rant but still love my Benz and M3.
