Setting up Brake Hold (SBC Hold) on E350

Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie to the forum. I just purchased an 08 E350 4Matic.
I was under the impression that this car had the "Brake-Hold" or as its sometime called, the SBC-Hold feature. Its when you depress the brake peddle a certain way at a full stop while still in Drive mode, and when you take the foot of the brake the car is held immobile until you depress the gas or brake again.
Suffice it to say I was very surprised that my car didn't have it.
Having read some forums, it seams that its a feature on some Benz's, and mostly in Europe.

Does anyone know how to turn this feature on in the cars computer, or hack it somehow???
Please direct me to other posts if this was already discussed.
Thanks so much.

Past 2007(facelifted) cars don't have SBC.

Its still electronic braking (drive by wire) right?
Might it still be enabled somehow?
THanks

No. MY2007- do not have brake by wire (SBC) any more. A conventional brake pedal assembly, and brake booster are used.

Ahhh, well thats a bummer.
I love the car, but not sure if I'll be getting another Benz after this one.

It also looks like i'll need to replace the pads and maybe rotors at some point, but the car only has 22k miles and i'm surprised its necessary already.

Compared to my old Infinity G35, the brakes are very touchy and grabby, not progressive at all. Thats why I assumed they were electronic.

Is everyone's brakes like this, or might it simply be a symptom of worn out brakes?

Actually that's the symptom for the facelift system--the SBC system has a perfect pedal feel.

I had them both on 2 separate cars. To me they both felt the same. The 07's Brake System is great.... and dependable.

I suspect there is a problem with your brakes. Bear in mind that if you lift your foot off the gas too quickly and go for the brakes quickly, the pads are moved closer to the rotors before you step on the brake pedal so that the brakes bite sooner.

I believe SBC hold is a non-US option. There is a completely different SBC pump part for the non-hold version.

Confirmed. This is a non-US feature. Cannot be enabled via SDS either.
