Regular service
Hi guys,
Debating between a S500 and a E500. What kinda service items am I looking at with a car in the 80k mile range? Not problems but just typical service items needed? Would they have the same needs being that they're identical engines and trannys? Any feedback will be appreciated!

Both 2005, there's nothing really on actual services like A, B, C type of stuff, I downloaded a service booklet but it doesn't have mileage listed so I'm a bit lost.

You can get a copy of the service sheet for both cars from the dealer. They provide a copy of this with each car after the service is done to show which items were done.
There is a thread on this forum where the sheet for the W211 (2005 E-Class) can be found. Not sure about the S-Class.

It
should call for a B service at 80k miles
they are both 5 years old so spark plugs are due to be replaced.
The transmission needs fluid and filter changed.
Know what you are getting into with Maint issues on both of these models.
Get a professional inspection performed Before you buy it
If you are not prepared to either do your own Maint or pay to have it done don't complain after the fact.
