Automatic time change doesn't apply anymore
Guys,
I have enabled summer/winter time change to be done automatically but of course since the US officially changed the dates COMAND clock doesn't change times anymore on time and since my cluster clock is setup to sync with my COMAND it doesn't do that of course either.
Is there an update that would fix this problem?

Since the clock uses the GPS to set the time and adjust for time zones, does it use a fixed DST adjustment, or look to the GPS signal for DST information?

That's probably correct as you can display the GPS time but I think that it isn't the US standard (although GPS is operated by the US vs. Magellan is a GPS system developed by the European companies and governments but not in use as of yet as a side note).

Existing GPS equipment will not use it, as it will require new/different received and decoders.
The question remains, does the MB Command system use a date table to establish DST or does it follow the DST bit/flag in the GPS data stream?

The European system is called Galileo.

You posted a good question and I hope we can get a satisfying answer here!

I just double checked and there is a setting in SDS to enable/disable this feature!
Now the question is who would know where the car would get the data from such as the time change? Too bad that I missed the time change recently otherwise I could have enabled it and checked if it works. Then we would have known.

So did you get it synced to the proper time? I just saw that the clock was off and when I set it correctly and re-enabled the sync the clock moved ahead an hour.
I wasn't sure where it was getting the time info. But the GPS makes sense. It must get the data through the satellite because I don't see anywhere to adjust it in the COMMAND menu.

My time was manually set in COMAND and since I enabled COMAND and cluster interface clock to sync my ci clock always syncs to the COMAND time. So I'm not sure at this point. I enabled the summer/winter time change with SDS and will check next year in spring if it does it automatically.

I found that thread after psting here. I now have the COMMAND unit set correctly and the sync turned back on.
Mackhack from purusing that thread it doesn't look like it knows how to change for DST. It is smart enough to know you've passed into a different zone but leaves the DST changes up to manual setting (at least that's my take).

The time sync feature does only sync the dash clock with the comand time. I didn't see a summer/winter time change in the cluster menu or comand. So I think only via SDS it's possible and I still think that doesn't work correctly anymore in the US since the changing dates have been changed. That would really make it worth to bring out an update for the corresponding control unit.

Seems to be.
Does Germany have DST? (Could be the reason it is skipped.)
I love that it does time zones. but wish it followed the DST flag from GPS.

My 2009 will allow you to change to DST in Command with one button, but it does not have an option for automatic change. The time signal comes from the satellites and syncs the dash clock with the Command clock.

Our 2009 W212 with the standard head unit does change time automatically, the 204 equally.

The manual for my '07 E350 states that the clock automatically adjusts for time zones, which I have seen it do, but it does not auto adjust for daylight time. I reset mine using the controls on the COMAND unit.
