Smell??
HEY, I just bought a brand new E320 E2, Leather, wheel locks, floor mats.
I get this burning smell, when I park my car, and when Iam inside the car. Is this normal for a new car? I just want to make sure before I take it to the dealer.
Also i got an E2 package, which comes with a premium audio system HK Logic 7 12 speakers, I wanted to know where all the speakers where, and also how come there is no Harmon Kardon Logo anywhere on the speakers, so i wanted to make sure it is an HK system. Also does anyone else have HK system without any logos.

hey
i have a new 2003 clk
and it also has a burning metal/electronic smell
i can smell it as long as im inside the car
it begins when i turn the engine on and drive for like 2 minutees and the smell start to appear unti i get out of the car

My car had a little burning smell right at first. I think all new cars do until all of the parts under the hood get heated up a few times. It went away after a few days.
The speakers grills on my front doors say Harmon/Kardan.

Cosmoline
The manufacturer sprays a rust inhibitor to the underbody called cosmoline. When your exhaust system heats up, it causes the cosmoline to burn-off. That is likely what you are smelling. It should be gone in a couple of days.

Might drive it 100 miles and see if it is the Coating on the exhaust- If it's real strong or foul- don't drive it - get it checked out.
My car has Hk and Has logos on the door speakers as well as the usual Logic 7 setting option .
I wish I knew why the HK was so much better at $700 bucks extra... Like what am I supposed to be hearing to fully appreciate the $700 extra quality?
