Panorama roof shade stop working on open position

I'm a proud new owner of a 08 E350 Sport pack with panorama roof. I'm loving my car every single day. but............like I said on the heading, after few days my electric shades of the panorama roof get stuck on the open position. Looking on evry posible search, couldn't find any posible reason for that. The sunroof is perfectly fine, rails lubricated and close and open perfectly fine. Any hint or idea what it could be? I'm trying to save a trip to the stealership..$$$$$

Possible scenarios - sun-shade loose connection, malfunctioning motor, or defective overhead control panel (OCP). If there is a low voltage condition, synchronization may have been lost requiring re-synchronizing (see manual) if this fails have dealer check it under warranty.

I had this problem as well after disconnecting the battery. Try holding down the switch for closing the sunroof and the shades should close as well and calibrate.

After doing that, i could close the shades with "close shades" button.

Cold weather here too. My car has been in storage and I just took it out, roads were cleaned off and that's when it stopped working. Please let me know when they fix it. Thanks!

Where is that fuse box located?. I open the side of the trunk where the nav dvd is located but I don't see anything there. Do I need to remove the trunk side cover to see it?

Well, well, well...my sun shades stopped working again. but something interesting happen. I was showing my piece of art car to a friend and I showed the summer opening feature where you point the remote to the driver door handle and keep pressing the remote until the windows and sunroof open. Ok the windows open all the way down but the sunroof didn't open. Wondering why? I had my shades close at that time so instead of open the sunroof, it open the shades, that is when they stop working , right after that. Went back and pull the fuse #9 at the trunk, reset and they work againg...now is something wrong with my car? or the summer opening feature it had to be use with the sun shades open???
Who knows................

CLC 2009 Panorama roof
I have the same problem on a CLC 2009 with the rear sunshade.
Even though the front sunshade works perfect...the rear is stuck on the open position. It seems like it is not attached to the cable moving inside the rails!
Any possible solutions?!?
Thank you in advance

BUMP! Mine just did the same thing. Made a fairly loud clunk and then I couldn't get the rear shade to close anymore. Everything else works fine.

W211 SUNROOF SHADE NOT WORKING

This sounds like you need to reset the Sunroof, same thing happens to me every time I disconnect the battery to my 2005 W211 CDI for maintenance.
Watch this video on Youtube for a quick tutorial.
