My 55 got new shoes, thoughts ?
Not sure if I love em or hate em, kind of in between now. Opinions are greatly appreciated, but fun to share anyway.
Just a few quick pics when I ran out to the store today. Please, if giving your opinion, be honest ! I am a big boy and can take it ! ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Only because YOU asked...
I think they are a poor choice for your car. The W211 has a simple, but tasteful body shape that is not improved by wheels as loud and busy as these are. They do not draw the eye to the car, they draw the eye to the wheels. If that is what you wanted, you got it. Plus, my guess is that your ride is now bone-jarring.

The E55 has aggressive styling > not your regular w211. Its a different beast. real sporty bumpers and skirts. Although i agree with every thing else yo say.
Gota expose those giant rotors & calipers too - great job doing that

They don't quite "fit" the look of the car....something is off. I think I would have went with a brushed finish or something.
How is the ride? I know when I got 20's it was damn rough, after close to 2 years...it was ughhh...go back to stock or 19's on the CLS.

They're nice wheels for that type of style IMO, and I've seen waaaay worse setups. However, I'm a big fan of "themes", and the initial theme is set forth by the body style, which in the W211's case, is pure understated elegance. I think that wheels should compliment a cars look, rather than overtake it.
That said, I don't think your setup goes against that all so much, but it does overtake, and kind of mismatch the body. IMO, if you REALLY want to make it work, you'll need to do some additional black accessorizing, like Tinted windows, smoking the front markers, and more if you want to go crazier, although that can get chancy on its own.
Anyway, I'm nitpicking. I loved my Pewter W211 and the E55 in Pewter is such a graceful beauty. Take care of it.

I'll be honest, I'm not really feeling them, but I've seen worse. If they'd work on any color, its yours, (pewter) I believe?
Also, just in case you missed it, theres a sub-forum specific to the W211 E55 AMG on this site. Check the W211 AMG section.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am leaning more towards the 'not so right for that car' ones, but wanted confirmation that it wasn't just me ! I like the wheels and love the car, just don't think it makes a great combo here.
I was initially Very opposed to Black wheels. Sure I like em ... on other peoples cars. lol Just never really wanted em for myself. Figured after being convinced they would be the best for for my car I would give em a try.
I am a much more simple look kind of guy. E63 wheels and the likes. Simple design, clean look.

I think the black wheels would look better if you got some dark tints all around. Also maybe paint the calipers a bright color to make them pop and break up the blackness of the wheels. Fitment wise, I think they look great.

Hi, i'm super new here, so hope you don't mind too much my intrustion!
I ran an aftermarket wheel business here in the UK, 95% were VW Euro look rims,
and most of those quality German brands, no knock offs!
It was popular to colour match wheels to either the body paint (exactly), or to the interior leather colour.
I did a real quick p-shop of your car, subtle with body colour centres.
IMHO..
I think the wheels are just fine, but for me I'd go with a toned down look on that vehicle, with your permission only, I'll post the pic here.
Show those brakes off, they show the car means business!

I like the Rims, I like the car, I like the size but those rims don't fit that car IMO, they don't seem to go together, like someone else posted they draw the attention away from the car direct to the rims and I feel downplay the car, that my opinions I feel it is the hard black vs the soft tone of the car!

I don't know I bet it depends on the scenario you put the car in, but I agree they are aggressive, not that it's bad in any way. Everyone their own style and taste. I do like the black with the color of your car.
