#### HELP !! HELP !! HELP !! ######

Sup, guyz.

It's such a pain after i took my E500 (2003 w211) to a full inspection, and mech told me that i need to spend 8000 totally to repair the car. The car was fresh import from Japan last year and i took it early this year from a dealer. I used to drive nicely and the fact is this E500 only travelled 45k kms so no wonder i did not do any inspection until now i need to sell it.

The inspection report lists some oil leaks and noises from the engine and crankshaft. Please have a look of the report and give me some suggestion on whats must be repaired before i put it on the market.
Actually the only problem i found out by myself is the noise from brakes when i was driving slowly. Also i can feel the vibration on the pedal. Is this some kind of problems from the SBC system? But why it is not on the report? What i must do to fix it ?
Actually, it's been a very nice car to drive other than those problems listing on the report. I do not feel any problems at all! I am concerning on the reliability of the report also!

Thanks a lot, guyz.
Please help me since i am fresh to MB.

The 2 motor mounts (and 1 tranny mount which you should do at the same time) is an easy do it your self, with a DIY post around here showing you step by step.

Same for the crankshaft pully / alternator belt / idle pully: also easy to do and a DIY is here.

Oil leak from valve cover gasket is fixed by replacing valve cover seal

Everything else I'd get a second opinion - this person is trying to rape you.

FYI for the rear shock thread I know some dealerships charge in the $2-3k range for doing this sort of repair:

But I also would urge getting a second opinion on the other items as well

Rear shocks $3800? WoW.. I did mine and parts for both rear shocks (airmatic) were around $900 + shipping. I thought that was high but I now have new rear shocks.

The idle pulley is about $22 at autozone and uses the same bearing as the OEM part. I checked. Bearing has same co and part number so why not save $30 and spend the $22 or so at autozone.

The estimate you got really is HIGH !.

Don't underestimate the ball joints though I replaced mine at 65,000 miles and they have been known to fail earlier. You can DIY on this also but I let my dealer do this one.
