03 e320 sedan a/c light flashing ?

i have a 03 e320 sedan
the a/c doesn t work, when you press the button the light just blinks like 5 times then back solid red...

it all started after i did the water valve i recovered the a/c and forgot to recharged it
now that i recharged the a/c the light still blinks
i ve check alldata and did all kind of search on how to reset the a/c
is there a way to reset without scan tool?

From what I understand when the pressure in the AC system drops below a certain pressure a code is stored which prevents the AC from operating. Even if the AC system is charged back to the proper level this code must be cleared for the AC system to work.

I had to pay a mechanic with SDS to clear the code after I fixed my issue with refrigerant leaking from the system.

Hi, you mind telling me exactly what he did or what I should ask for? I’m 7 hrs from Merced and am experiencing the same issue, hoping to find someone nearby to do it for me. I’m not familiar with much of the tech stuff. If there’s also something else that needs to be fixed after getting that code erased I would appreciate all info greatly. Thanks in advance🙏🏽

This is a post from 2011 and revspeed hasn’t logged on in 10 years.

You may need A/C code B1241 - [refrigerant charge] cleared if your system lost refrigerant to the point it stopped working and now has been recharged. It will require someone with a scanner that can read all system codes and is capable of resetting them.

An independent shop that services German cars should be able to do this, along with many auto A/C specialists.
