Raked 2008 E350

I've tried to search for this answer and haven't found it...

Our "new-to-us" (about 6 weeks) 2008 E350 is 3/4" higher at the back wheels than at the front...It sits and drives "raked".

It's straight stock - as far as I know - with stock tires and wheels.

The car sits with the wheel well openings 1.75" over the front tires and 2.50" over the back tires. There's an identical 0.75" difference between the front and back jack stand points on the car.

The vehicle was sold as a CPO.

is this "normal"? I've looked at on-line photos and it doesn't seem to be.
I looked and this vehicle does not have air suspension.

It looks, frankly, a little silly. How would I correct this? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Nope. standard 245/45/17 tires on standard wheels. No sport package. Vehicle is 4matic.

Well...

I have an '08 E350 4MATIC with the sport package and handling package... Its slightly lower in front, but not the amount yours is... The gaps with the 19" wheels are significantly smaller, obviously, but they are pretty much the same. Like I said, just a VERY SLIGHT difference in height in the front and the back.

So if this isn't "normal", is there an adjustment or is something "wrong"?

Any ideas or help would be appreciated!

If (and I don't know) the 2008 e350 4matic sedans are self-leveling (mine is sans airmatic), then could this be a malfunction of the self-leveling system??

If it's CPO just take it up to the dealer...

Already talked to the salesperson and it's going in Tuesday.

As a scientist, I like to know as much a possible about my world. I've never found any harm in understanding how something works, learning what was changed and understanding why that fixed the problem.

Again, thanks for any additional understanding or hypotheses about this issue.

I'd say that the answer should lie in the Springs (i.e, if they've been changed or not). Some Techs don't know sh** (you'd be surprised), so if they say that nothing is wrong, ask them to show you an identical car's (E350 Sport) underside, next to yours, so you know firsthand. If the springs are stock, maybe somebody cut them? Or maybe somethings broken down there. You'd be surprised at some of the stupid stuff people do to these cars for the sake of slight stance modifications (i.e, cutting springs, mangling underbody parts to get wheels to fit, etc.), which is one reason why buying Used is something that is less alluring than it used to be, for me.

My 2008 E350 4matic non sport also sits higher in the rear. Mine doesn't have the aromatic suspension. I need to see how thick the spring pads are as removing them or finding a thinner version will lower the rear a bit.

Did you buy your car at MB of Roch?

The official verdict is ... it's "normal". (and no charge to look it over!)

Vince,

What are these "pads" you speak of?

Yes, bought at MB of Roc in late April.

Shoot a profile picture and post on the thread.

How much luggage and groceries in the trunk does it take to make the car sit level and lokk more "normal"..?

Typically there are rubber pads between the spring and the spring seat. I am going to get my car on the lift and take a look to see if I can tell how thick they are as I thought I saw an old thread somewhere that they come in different thicknesses.

I bought my CPO E350 4Matic from MB of Roch as well in March.
