SOS Tele Aid Malfuction visit w/s
I have a 2006 E320 CDI. I would every now and again get the Tele Aid malfuction message and then clear it and it would stay gone for weeks/month. I do not subscribe to Tele Aid services.
In central NC, we finally received some measurable rain fall this week. On the way home yesterday, the message popped up as soon as I started the car for my trip home from work. I cleared the message as I have in the past, but it did keep popping back up. I noticed the "I" icon and the "wrench" icon in the center console were illuminated red when this was taking place. I cycled the key a couple of times at a stop light and the message still was there. After approx. 7-8 miles of driving, the red icons and the message disapeared and have not been back on. No issues on the way to work this am.
Can someone PM me the procedure for checking the connector that may have corrosion on it? I really think the rain/moisture is what triggered the event. The car does reside outdoors. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Konigstiger
Konigstiger provided me with the information that allowed me to fix my problem. He saved me some $$. I really appreciate the assistance.
If anyone else has the same issue as I did, PM me and I will offer what I learned from Konigstiger.

I drive a 2004 e500 and started having the same issue in November 2011. The SOS did not start calling itself until I have the battery replaced. Someone told me I should ask MB to disconnect the SOS/Tele-Aid module.... please help. It's like I am pressing the SOS button, which I do NOT subscribe to. The radio, phone calls, etc. temporarily shut down each time the system responds YOU DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO SOS.... Thanks TC

tele aid SOS malfunction
Hello to all,
I have a 2006 E350 4matic, I keep it well maintained ...it treat it well.
Recently a message showed up SOS tele aid malfunction. And it keeps showing up . I called the dealer who said he cannot "code it out" . I never had the service or had the Nav or phone hooked up. What really pissed me off was that he said I must have pushed it somehow.... I reminded him its under a protective cover so this would not happen. He went on to say, "well its going to be there forever. really ?
I am in the NYC area, I read this can be coded out via the SDS. I know the SDS is not a toy and should be used with care. Is there anyone in the area that could help me out.?
Thanks
