Thanks. When I picked up the 1169 bulbs for the running lights today we opened the hood and figured it out. Your right. 2 min max per side. Unfortunately, I had a old bulb in one hand, the new one in the other and guess which one I dropped and lost?

Now im a cyclops with one yellow eye on my car. Hes going to order me another pair this week. Glad they were only $15

Hi guys...

Okay, im no expert at this so help would be appreciated. I need to change my sidelights (the ones under the high beam ones) and I understand from the above posts that its a 2min job. I opened the hood and had a look but couldnt figure out how to take the bulb out.

Please can someone explain how to take them out? any precautions needed to be taken? Thank you!

With the lights off, just turn the bulb holder through 90 degrees. Pinch the bulb and pull directly out of the holder. Push new bulb in gently until it is fully seated. Replace holder into opening in headlight unit making sure lugs are alligned. Rotate 90 degrees until it clicks in to place.

I just did this for the first time this week with the help of this forum and trust me when I say that I typically don't work under the hood.

All you have to do is open the hood after the car has been off for a while or you are going to burn your arm off. Get a flashlight, locate the parking light wire, it is the one underneath the highbeam. Twist it couter (clockwise I believe) about one quarter of a turn. You will then be clear to pull it out. Pull it out and you now have access to the bulb. Pop out the old bulb and pop in the new one. Reverse the way you took it out and check to see that it worked. With the fogs and parking it took me 15 minutes total but again, I never visit under the hood... Good luck and let me know how it goes.

after lurking here, I've just order the Piaa 169s for my city lights,
now I'm confused about the headlights I have and what lights you're swapping out, I have an '05 e 320 cdi, with no lighting upgrades, what headlights do I have and why would I swap them out.
FWIW: I rarely use the fogs so I'm not doing that swap

Busted! Totally feel like I am cheating on GCF but on most of the time on GCF I want to talk about the E but feel like nobody else does. I love this forum!

Glad it went well!

Clear side marker bulbs?

I'm planning to change all of my bulbs(fog lights, city lights) to the ones metioned in this thread so they match my xenons, but, should I use the PIAA 19169 bulbs for my clear side markers as well, so that they match the rest of the bulbs? (Note: I know it's suppose to be amber, but oh well...)

Yes, sider marker(or clear corner lens)...those amber reflector lights on your bumper which some people change to clear or to those euro impact bumpers.
Can the PIAA 169's be used for those as well, because as of right now with the clear stock bulbs...it emits a more yellowish light?

This thread mentions that PIAA doesn't make a H11 bulb, that we should go with something from www.lightsearch.com

I went to PIAA's website and they list an H11..

http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-H11.html

Does anyone have any experience with this blub?

Edit: Let me say, for the fog lights so they match more like the Xenons.

I dont understand, my piaa 19172 does not give off that same coloring as the pictures show. It may be since I have 6000k bulbs? I'll take some pictures tonight and show you guys.
