Different keys = different throttle response

Now that we've logged a few miles on the E, I have really begun to appreciate the difference in throttle response when using my wife's key versus using my key.

As I understand it, the car "learns" your throttle habits. I'm more of a lead foot than my wife, and it really shows when I borrow her key to take the E for a spin.

The car responds slowly and luxuriously when using her key. With my key, the car is much faster off the line and appears to shift at higher rpms... It is definitely quicker and more responsive with my key.

The difference is so noticeable that I refuse to drive with her key anymore.

Anyone else have this same experience?

The adaptive trans setting is not part of the key memorizations. Seat/Wheel/Mirror posisition, Radio and A/C settings are.

Had my car at the dealer yesterday and I asked if the car's ECU could permanently be set to the "most responsive" possible setting all the time. I was thinking that since the adaptive mode learns according to the driver, and since three people in my family drive the car, it may always be trying to re-learn and sometimes regress into a less responsive mode. The service rep said that this could not be done, which I find hard to believe. I have to believe that somehow the computer can be overridden always respond in a most aggressive mode, anyone else ever ask about this? And yes, it is only the transmission thats "learns" in the adaptive mode, again according to service rep.

Interesting... it sure seems like the car drives more aggressively with my key.

I don't know if the key memory keeps the Airmatic settings? check that out? Do you drive with Sport 2, and the Mrs. drive in Comfort?

After some "obsessing" lately.. I am convinced about 80% that the tranny learning/modes are tied to the airmatic modes.

So if the key remember who last used comfort.. it's possible the tranny mode associated with it.. would be linked INDIRECTLY to the key in the car.
