05 E-500 radio error/tele aid message
Picked up my new-to-me E-500 on Thursday. Everything works great, car looks brand new, drives wonderful. Hook up the sat radio. order a new nav disc online, life is great.
This morning, the COMAND unit will not boot up. I get the mercedes symbol for 10 sec or so; then the screen goes dark. Also, I have a 'Tele Aid malfunction - visit workshop' message.
EDIT - did get rain all night last night. I'm assuming that has something to do with the problems.
Shop is closed until Monday. Anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks,
jw

OK this morning I tried Dex's suggestion; removed the negative battery terminal from the battery in the trunk for 20 minutes, hooked it back up and voila, everything is back, no errors.
Weird as hell. I am going to go ahead and remove the driver's side trunk liner and clean and grease the splitter connections as preventive maintenance. I sure hope that I don't run into this every time it rains or this will be a short lived love affair with this vehicle.
Many thanks Dex and also to others for the PM's and answers to this thread.

Agreed. I have a bit of experience working with electronics in the military, so I should be competent to at least put down some dielectric grease
