Style+comfort or speed?
Really confusing!!!! my head is gonna crack now lol
Nah s class is not for me i had 745i and it felt big....e-class is a perfect car and i want to feel some horses uinder my Azz so e320 is not my case.....i want e500 probably or 400 cdi....which are not in North America yet....right now i'm driving e220 cdi and i'm loving it you can go a week on one full tank (my moms car in europe) ....and it's not slow at all....so i'll probably go with e500 + some kit + nice set up of music... Does e500 comes with all that body roll stuff so i can take corners and all that.... ON THE OTHER HAND i always dreamed about a sport car....(e500 is fast enough faster than my brothers ml55 amg isn't it?) so y don't i go with e500?right? hmmmmm

However, if you consider yourself as a "conservative" driver. Then a E500 is more than enough for you. You mentioned that if you were to get a E500, you will put a set of bodykit and some nice audio system. I dont know about the bodykit part, but if you're getting a E55, I think eventually you will soup up some nice audio system there too!!
Afterall, it really depends on how much you're preparing to spend and your NEEDS. If you can afford a E55, why bother to think of anything else?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
If E500 can do the trick, there wont be a E55! Personally, I think the E55 is a piece of art. It gives you all the style and comfort you can find in a MB and yet, there is such a powerful engine under the hood. Driving a E55 doesnt mean you have to speed all the time. Its the "availability of power" when you need it. You're in the slow lane, you need to merge into the middle lane, if you have a E55, you can just step on the gas pedal a bit and the massive torque in your car will do the job for you. I am not saying E500 cant do it, but E55 will do it crisper and quicker. Thats feeling is quite rewarding. You may not do that everyday, but when you need it, the power is there!

I am strongly agree with harris say. E55 is an art. and if you can afford it go for it... but once again this is just our opinion, the choice is yours. anyway those 2 cars are da bomb yo
I think you can afford a good ladar jammer. (I believe it is not difficult in getting a speeding ticket even you drive a e320. e55 gives you the power when you need it.)
both E55 and E500 consume a lot of fuel -- it does not make BIG difference between these two hogs. so don't change your order, go for e55.

Is it possible to order whatever model you personally like, then if it is not the AMG, have itsupplied with all the AMG 'bells and whistles'?
Good luck with your choice

The CDI options in the U.S. (as described ad nauseam in other threads), are a subset (2/3?) of the options available for the gasoline E's. I don't believe you can get a fabric interior in the U.S., and you can have any color you want as long as it's some variant of silver/grey/black. (I'm exaggerating slightly, there are 2 blues, a red and a green, but your dealer will frown at you and your lack of future resale value). I've not heard of AMG options or tuning on a diesel, or I probably would have bought one.
I'm interested in knowing if Canada tends toward the continental preferences for basics, colors and cloth, or prefers the sybaritic hedonism and gadgetry of the U.S.?
