35W vs 55W D2S bulbs?

Guys,
Do our cars have 35W or 55W D2S bulbs in the Bixenons?
Can a 55W bulb be used? Has anyone done this?

Would really appreciate a prompt response as I have to change them in a few hours..

Obliged, gents!

Somewhere I read that the bi-xenon (...not that there's anything wrong with that...) lamps are 35w, but I'm just working from memory.

Right you are.
Therefore I would like to know if a 55W swap would be possible. At present my light output is pitiful, at best!

U can 55w bulbs but there are chances that it can get too hot and start meltings the wires or harness. U can try using philops bulbs which I heard are better than osram, but it more truely MB xenon lenses just sucks

I assume that the HID ballasts are 35w specific. If true, then it would be a significant little project to retrofit everything needed to make a working system. I doubt that you can just plug in different bulbs and have them emit more light. All this is guesswork.

On my car, once in high-beam mode, they're the best headlight system I've ever had. I'm perfectly satisfied with them just as they are.

OEM ballasts are 35W. The wattage is not bulb specific but ballast specific.

I'm just curious, are the W212 lights 55W or also 35W? FWIW I am very happy with my bi Xenons. When driving on a dark road I am generally very appreciative of how good the lights are. A HUGE improvement over the lights of my S80.

High Beams - No complaints, its the low beams that just suck big time!!
Can't go around blinding people with the high's on..

55w bulbs and ballasts are aftermarket only as far as I know. Newer cars just have better designed projector optics. Some of the best projectors are the lexus LS430, Acura TL and S2000.
