Just bought an 04 e500 4matic yay!
and then this morning i come out to go to work and the left rear is sitting on the fender well. super non yay.
definitely wasn't like this only yesterday when i was at the dealer.
i have the basic warranty covering powertrain. is there any recourse i have since its barely 1 full day of ownership when this happened? or am i screwed sideways?
great first post? thanks everyone

If the seller does not stand behind it, call your attorney. Can't believe they didn't know there was an Airmatic issue.

Bringing the car back today. They will look at it, they apparently have Star Diagnostics there. This is NOT an MB dealer. Everyone pray for me

Just dropped it off, they don't have star there. They will send it out and give me a call. If they tell me I have to pay for anything should i lawyer up? the lemon law doesn't apply since its a 2004...I called 1800mylemon prior to drop off. They told me I can call the PA attorney general and the BBB filing complaints. Im a bit worried here

Most likely they will tell you to pay for it . I say don't pick up the car at all after they look at it. I would get lawyer involved and just buy my car then lol

Did you buy the car "as is/" Usually they give you a 30 day warranty. It's a bit nuts to drive the car off the lot and have the suspension fail the next day. I think they have an obligation to give you a functioning car...

As was stated you need to get this "dealer" to fix it. If it was a private party you would be SOL and facing the bill on your own. This is not a private party and you do have recourse. Call your state's attorney.
I am unaware of Lemon laws for used automobiles. That makes no sense at all. Lemon laws are aimed at the manufacturer.

Just spoke with shop they sent it out to a MB repair center, will be ready for pickup on monday night or tuesday. I asked what are they doing since I didn't authorize anything to be done. They said they are awaiting parts and replacing something but didn't ask for compensation, so my dealer isn't charging me anything either. Let's just hope it actually works out that way, since I didn't ok the repairs I'm definitely not paying for anything here no matter what they say!

Good for you and many happy years of motoring. I love my E500 4Matic and have 85,000 miles. I hope it runs forever.
