Panoramic roof

I have front and rear solar panels in my roof. Now that we have warmer weather I was hoping to observe some difference in cabin temperature when the car is parked in the sun.
Unfortunately I am not able to notice any difference.
Does anybody have the same experience?

What does the dealer say? Perhaps your unit isn't operating properly.

My understanding is that they only kick on the fans when the inside of the car reaches 86 degrees. When you get in you should feel a small amount of air coming from the vents in the dash. If you park in the sun, close the roof shades and rear/side shades if you have them. Keep in mind it's only blowing the outside air around, it's not running the AC. Hope that helps!

I noticed it working for the first time the other day. It probably was working before, but I did not hear it. After your car has been in the sun for awhile, just get in and close the door. You can hear a fait fan noise and light air blowing from the vents.

I think it works fine. The inside of a car will go to about 120 degrees without ventilation in about an hour. With the panels, the inside of you car will only rise to the outside temp. Much better than 120.

If you get in your car on a day greater than 80 degrees and the inside of your car is not on fire, you can thank the solar panels. The air also doesn't smell "stale" because of the circulation.

I didnt get the Pano cause I didn't think it would look good on white(now I have seen a few and I like the look). If I read correctly there is no open sunrooof just 2 glass panels? If so then I don't feel as bad I like the open air of a regular sunroof, correct me if I'm wrong and there is a sunroof.....

E500Lorinser, the front panel operates as a normal opening sunroof, and the back panel is fixed and can't be opened. When you open the front panel, it stacks on top of the back panel (lifts up then back). I got the silver because I didn't think the pano would look good with white. While I'm very happy with my choice, I have now seen the pano with white and think it's very pretty too.

I have a pano roof on my silver E. Its cool.

But I have noticed that at the rear of the car the roof makes a noise when going over slightly uneven surfaces - especially at low speeds - it sounds like the roof is flexing.

Has anyone else found this?

Yes . I have the same problem, but it only sounds like its coming from the roof. There is a lot of plastic in the car and when they start flexing you get these sounds. On of these problems was traced to the back of the passenger head rest.

Mine does this. Happens every time I turn into the underground parking garage at work. Just as the car crosses the sidewalk/curb and then quickly descends into the garage. Very obvious flexing going on.
