Not sure if LS is the same as LS2, but this might explain the price.

Depends on how good the deal is... I haven't been a fan of any of the Goodyear Eagle tires. I can't recall exactly where I experienced the LS version, but I currently have the GT's on my car and I wouldn't put them back on (well, with the exception of one I just replaced yesterday after an irreparable hole = still wanted a matched set). On the other hand, if you could get a decent deal on the GY Assurance Tripletreads or the Comfort version, I'd go for that. Even if a hundred or two more, they are more than worth it vs the GY Eagle line (in my opinion). That said, if you are getting them for like 400 dollars less than anything else comparable, that is indeed hard to pass up. I have just felt the Eagle line to have a lot more noise than I am used to in any vehicle. Oh, and I'm thinking that most of the Eagle's don't have very much of a warranty.

I must admit to not understanding the concept of spending for a car such as a Mercedes Benz, and then skimping on tires, such as the ones we're discussing and noting the survey in my prior post above. Tires are the only contact our cars have with the outside world...those four relatively small contact patches do it all, acceleration, braking, and steering... and help us avoid any unintended contact with other cars! To save a few extra bucks, I would not choose anything below the top few rated tires, depending on which attributes I am seeking. At this moment in tire history, we are running Continental DWS on the E and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus on the C. The DWS give my wife's car superior capability in wet and light snow conditions, unmatched by any other all season tire, and the Pilot Sport give me outstanding performance and smoothness. In winter, both cars transition to Blizzak WS60. If money is an issue, I would do fewer other mods, but never cut back on tires.

i saw the prod date of 2007 for the ones on tirerack and passed on them. Dont want to risk thread problems on my car and have disaster strike if its at high speeds.
Ended up getting a set of Hankooks for summer and Michelin Apline A3 for winter
