Can you input a destination while driving? On my ML with Command I can, but first it makes me agree that I'm not driving

What's the button labeled rpt next to the mute button? What features in regard to nav can you scroll through using the steering wheel buttons?

If it's the same button as mine, rpt (repeat) is for repeating the last nav instruction.

Drb,
Congratulation for nav. :p

Yes, it is the CD slot. The nav player is in the trunk on the left side behind a door.

RPT= repeat last nav instruction. There does not appear to be a way to scroll through nav instructions via the multifunction steering wheel buttons. The nav system software is heavily branched, and would be a major distraction to operate that way. Responsiveness is instantaneous using the soft buttons on the screen. Having said that, you can use the steering wheel buttons to switch between the compass and map direction icons on the speedo. Also, the icons in the speedo show the street name where you happen to be traveling...which I find helpful. Nevertheless, the voice prompts are the best in this nav system. I have traveled through some very complex road systems and the voice prompts were flawless. My geographic area's street system is very choppy, and some addresses are hard to find unless you have lived in the area a while. Getting to some destinations require awareness of one way streets, deadends, service road entrances and alley ways. I have been asked countless times by frustrated visitors to the area (who are using maps!) for directions to certain streets that they have been searching for hours. Command II navi voice prompts can get me to these places promptly. This gives me confidence in the system when traveling in unfamiliar territory.

Is there an auxillary audio input jack in the glovebox like there is on the DVD Comand unit being used in the E over in Europe currently?

Stop!!

Your making me jealous!!

I wanted the DVD-NAV, but I couldn't wait any longer. My dealership told me sometime in October is the earilest I could get an '04 with DVD-NAV.

My lease was up on my '98 E320, and I had extended it already, but I didn't want to for another six months.

I had this clunk in the rear (probably shot shocks) and the tires we're losing tread, etc. The car still ran pretty good with 77,000 miles but I didn't want to have to shell out a few thousand on repairs on a car I didn't own.

At any rate this Nav looks great! I wish at least they didn't have the tape deck so they could make the screen a little bit bigger on the non-command systems.

I hope that they put command II in the new CLK cab which I hope to have ordered for a March or April deliverly.

I am drb. However, I'm on a different computer that refused to allow me to log into MBW with my user name and password. I tried to do this several weeks in February. I registered with another moniker.

So you can have a CD playing while the NAV is operational?

I bought the CD changer when I preordered the NAV because I was told that
they would be operating off the same drive.
