Tire Emergency - Dallas
Tire emergency - 2004 E 320wagon - 245/45/17's - husband must have hit a curb and we have 2 flats on passenger side.
He didn't realize it and car is in our garage (rear alley).
Will have to have car towed.
Car has Michelin Sport A/S that are almost 4 years old. We bought them at Sears and had road hazard. Not sure if we will get anything towards replacement and probably time to buy 4 new tires.
Trying not to invest another $900 in this car.
Sears has Goodyear GT's - are they any good?
What about Yokohama AS530's? Can get those for about $160 at NTB.
Options are Sears, Discount Tire & NTB - depending on what a nearby location has in stock.
Thanks.

tires
I have michelins (Pilot Sport), 07 e350 4matic sedan. Fabulous, quiet, smooth and looks like very little tread 12,000 miles. Michelins are more expensive but worth it over Gyear, Continental etc... heads above. You can probably go a little lower quality but stick with Michelins if you plan to keep the car another 3- 5 years Good luck.

sounds like it. Think of the michelins as an investment, more out now but less later since the tires will last double the yokos. plus its a nice selling feature when the mich shows little tread wear.

You left out Sam's Club, Costco, and local independants. I have never shopped for your size, but I learned the hard way not to deviate from Michelin if possible. I have a quote from an independant dealer in Tyler for a set of .ichelins that is equal to Discount Tire, includes lifetime balancing and locally owned. Give your neighbors a chance.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I guess I will stick with what I have. Maybe the front driver side tire can go on rear passenger side on rear and we'll only need to spring for 2 new tires right now and replace the other 2 later.

I WILL NOT run anything but Michelin's on my E series. I have tried many other brands with poor results. But as the stock people would say,, past results is no predictior of future results.

Love my GLK. My 39-month lease is up in 7 months and I only have less than 14,000 miles on it so I am probably going to finance a purchase & keep it. It looks and drives brand new. Very happy with it. But I will know this time to get extended warranty from MB!
