My service rep is really top notch and very helpful. He also gave me a free 100pt car inspection and provided me a brand new w205 as a loaner car. Well, they can hold my car as long as they want while im having a blast driving the new C.

And also my cousin has an 07 E350. But for some reason his VIN# didnt come up via (MBUSA website) if he can make a claim regarding this fuel leak issue under extended warranty. I thought this extended warranty covers all E-class 03-09. Should he still take his car to the dealer? Any number where he can call to see if hes cover by the warranty accurately? Thanks
Yes he should definitely take it to the dealer, had the same issue but it was covered. On mine they just replaced the sender unit and it took about a day but I have a feeling every dealer is different in that regard.

Luckily, its covered by the warranty. My cousin received an email from his service rep two days ago and he said that they are covered.

Warranties are issued by the selling company (MBUSA here) so probably not.

You might be able to use the documentation to ask for coverage.

Father in law mentioned it at his drop off for a separate issue [windows won't roll down--his computer is knackered I think], and they said "nope, your car isn't affected and no recalls"--2009 E350. Are they lying to him?

Did he receive a letter? What did MBUSA say?

Not if it is PZEV, not included in extended warranty but rather MA emissions warranty covers this for 15 years/150,000 miles. PM VIN for PZEV confirmation.

Recalls and extended warranties are two different things. There's no recall on the gas tank so yes, there's no recall. If there's a leak though, it will be fixed under the extended warranty. By just extending the warranty, they get away with just fixing the ones that have a leak instead of fixing all cars regardless if there's a leak or not that a recall would require.

Today I picked up my car after fuel tank replacement. Car was at dealer's for nearly a month. I had given them car with a tank half full, and that was how they returned it to me. So, immediately after taking possession of car, I headed to Costco to fill up. Pump kept on clicking off, possibly like 5-6 times, but I was able to get a full tank. Not sure if clicking off was a pump problem or something wrong with my car, falsely "reading" tank was full. I guess I'll have to wait till next fill-up and see what happens. Nice to know no more gas odor inside cabin.

I also submitted receipts for warranty reimbursements for prior failed work I had done at INDYs. I was told to wait like 3 weeks for a check.

This happens when air is in the hose. This causes the false tank full reading at the tip of the nozzle where the sensor hole is. Make sure you check tank capacity before you exit vehicle to know how many gallons should go in so you know when it's truly full.

The local dealer just replaced my fuel tank components and said nothing about the warranty, either the MBUSA extended coverage or the PZEV 'emission related components" coverage. Charged $521 to replace leaking fuel filter module. I never had any gasoline smells or leaks on this car.

Can anyone confirm that this is covered on the emission warranty?

Our local Costcos were a real problem filling gas into our E350 and 328i, had to turn the nozzle upside down and keep restarting the flow. They just recently slowed the pumps down a little and the problem seems to have gone away.

My Dealership just contacted me stating that my new tank, sending unit, and additional parts are now in. They diagnosed my tank/fuel smell issues months ago in January. It took them 3 months to receive the replacement parts since this issue seems to be in high demand to fix. They didn't keep my car though and in the meantime just told me not to fill it full, just to 3/4 max and it won't leak. That did help for a simple fix and going to drop it off soon when I return stateside..

If your vehicle is PZEV, Emissions warranty - Fuel Metering System - Fuel Pressure Regulator w/Integrated Fuel Filter see attachment. If not, and experience gas odor 15 year extended warranty.

Thanks.

Just TT dealer, who said MBZ wants them to inspect all W211 E350s for fuel leaks, including PZEZ vehicles that were not covered in the Bulletin.

Your dealer shouldnt charged you to replace the fuel filter module since your car is PZEV CA which covers all emission system and components under pzev manufacturers warranty coverage.

Like Konigster said if your car is PZEV in the state of CA, all emission control system and components are covered under the manufacturers warranty for 15yrs/150k miles whichever first occur.

My dd 07 E350 is a PZEV CA car. I took my car to my local MB authorized dealership two months ago regarding the fuel leak issue under the NHTSA fuel leak extended warranty. I didnt know that my car is PZEV till konigster and my service advisor told me. I really think its better that our cars are PZEV because it covers a lot of parts more than you can think of.

Just ask konigster if he can pull out your PZEV manufacturer warranty coverage so you are aware whats covered and whats not. Hope this help bro.

Can anyone tell me how we'd know if a car is a PZEV or not? I bought mine used, but it was originally sold in California. It's a 2007 E350, and I don't have the gas smell problem...yet.

Run the vin through EPCnet or any of those vin decoder sites. Pzev feature code is 917. Regular gas is 915.

Make a copy of your DL, your Registration, the invoice and the credit card receipt and hand it to your SA. If he's unfamiliar with it show him the letter.
