who else with Sport package got jipped with H-rated tired?
I noticed I was supposed to have V-rated tires with the sport package, yet I've got Conti H-rated tires on mine. Chatted with my Service Advisor about it and since I don't have the original sticker, I don't have proof other than all the printed and web materials on the E-class that I was supposed to get the V-rated tires. I don't know that I want them, as it's likely more comfortable with H-rated, but I'm a little ticked. Wonder who else got jipped like me...

I got the H rated ContiTourings too. Mine was built in 12/02.
I think the consensus was that if your car was built before a certain date it came with the H rated tires. After that date all the sport cars came with W rated tires as advertised. If you do a search you should be able to find the thread on this topic.
I have the window sticker for my car and all it says for the sport package wheels/tires is:
"17" Sport Wheels with 245/45R17 tires"
No reference to W rated tires
edit: here is the link to that thread

Hmmmm
I got the sport pkg too. I took delivery in 11/02, so build date was obviously before that. I got the Continentals too.
No complaints from me so far, but even if they were inferior, I'm not subtle enough to notice any difference.

E500 sport delivered 12/02 with conti H-rated tires as well. Let salesman know, he checked the brochure (just ask your salesman to check his brochure if u lost yours), he agreed, and ordered new tires. Now have Michelen Pilot's, and loving them.

If you check the brochure or the web site, I believe that they both say that you will NOT get H-rated tires on the Sports package equipped models, and they give a little disclaimer that the sporty tires will wear quicker, and you may sacrifice other things.
From the web site, if you click details when you are building the car: "245/45WR17 high-performance tires", notice the W.
Also, on the Features...Specifications...Chassis part of the web site for the E, a description of the Tires has a footnote as follows:
Tires Steel-belted radial, standard. 225/45R17 95H, performance. With optional Sport Package: 245/45R17 95W, high-performance.2
2. W-rated tires are optimized for performance driving and may provide reduced ride comfort, increased tire noise, substantially increased treadwear and greater susceptibility to damage compared with H-rated tires.
