Anyone successfully synced Evo 4G's contacts with BT phone system?
If so, which system... MB factory or aftermarket?

I synched my evo 4g contacts to my 2009 E350 Command System last weekend with no problems. Are you having problems?

Yes. '06 E350 with newer black bluetooth puck and it pairs but no syncing of the contacts or outbound/inbound calls.

Evo4G unrooted.

Any advice or special instructions?

I'll see what I can come up with. I'm a Toyota Tech and we have some issues synching Evo's to our cars. I'll look through our bulletins and see if evo's have a special procedure. Certain phones often have the same problems over several manufacturer's BT systems.

It's very frustrating. I thought it might be the puck so I tried with the older puck and no luck. I tried the new puck with my kids' iPhones and they synced no problem. Not sure where to go from here.

OK....I'm not sure if this will work on a Mercedes, but I found one tip submitted by another Toyota Tech on our technical resource sharing page about what he had to do to get a Verizon Evo 4G to share contacts with a 2010 Avalon.

1. Download "Bluetooth file transfer" app from market.
2. Export contacts to SD card ( in menu options within contacts)
3. Open Bluetooth File Transfer (it'll look like file explorer) Navigate to where you exported the .VCF touch and hold the contacts (.vcf) and select "send via bluetooth.

It'll ask you to select a device, if you select (Toyota Phone System) it will fail, instead select UHI-S**.

You can try this and if you get a choice to select Mercedes Phone System or UHI-S**, select UHI-S**

This was the only submitted tip for the Evo 4G in our data base that I can search. There were no service bulletins or PANT bulletins issued by Toyota Technical on the Evo or even on synching contacts with an Android.

I don't get UCI-S**, only MB Phone System or something like that, and when I try to sync it fails.

I get the same error. I've tried the method that otto6457 has suggested as well. I have a Droid Bionic and I just can't sync my contacts over to COMMAND (I have same year/model as you otto 6457).

I'm not sure how the puck would be discoverable as "UHI-S**", but I don't get that as a device showing up for me. All that comes up is "MB PhoneSystem" and when I select that, then I get this:

It looks like Toyota is just different enough that it won't work on a Mercedes. I was hoping we had an Avalon on the lot today and I could try this out using my Evo, but we didn't have anything but 2012's and they have a new control unit from the 2010's.

Sorry, I'm out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas. My Evo just synched up first try and all my contacts were there. I can post a question on the Toyota Resource page but it may be awhile before anyone responds with a different solution.

I had the same issue with my Motorola Droid Razr, when I changed the puck from the silver to the black one it worked. However, I was only able to get the phone numbers and not the names that would go with it. Mercedes designed the COMMAND unit for Apple, and only now are they realizing that APPLE is not the only game in town. The only thing I could suggest is if you updated your phone software to the latest version, maybe that could help.

I've never seen the Receive Business Contact that seems to be the requirement for doing a Bluetooth transfer of contacts. Nor do I see the second "UHI-S" device (Is this a feature of the version of COMAND or reliant upon the version of puck? Does anyone know?)

I have a 2008 CLS 550 and an old puck (B6 787 5839). I was hoping that updating my puck would help, but I guess not. I'm interested to hear if a Viseo MB-2 would fix the problem.
