COMMAND Phone Options?
COMMAND Phone Options?
Hi, I just bought an E350 (2006). It has a COMMAND unit with phone controls. I am having difficulty figuring out if this unit can match up with a phone, any idea how to tell if it has bluetooth or if it has a dock of some type?
I read the COMMAND manual and it just mentions connecting the phone- not real helpful.
What should I look for to see what phone options I have (if any)?

Thanks you cited a page to the
MB MHI BT Module (a bluetooth module for COMMAND)
which, for a module the size of a USB memory stick, costs $500.
But I guess what I am aksing is how do I know if I already have this module or not? Usually you can look someplace and see a connector or a module or a sticker, or click a screen and see what is installed and what is not (or a firmware revision or something). Not sure of what to look for here.
And If I don't have this what are my phone options ("none" is what I assume).

That is a lot of reading but it's a lot of good info too.
The quickest way to find out if you have the BT module is to look inside your arm rest. If it's installed it will be there or you will see the connector.
Or call up a dealer's parts department and give them your VIN and ask if your car is equipped with the pre-wiring for hands-free communication.

On my 2008, it just plugs in to an existing connector located inside the center console at the back. See section 3 in the attached.
