E-Class Keyless Start

I peronally love keyless go, it was one of those things that I didn't know I wanted until I had it ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yesterday I drove my brother's fiancée to lunch and her eyes got big as she asked with quizzical giddiness, How did you just start your car? I told her I was working on my magician skills

I thought this feature was silly until I got to use it day to day. What's amusing is sometimes out of habit I approach my Volvo and I'm puzzled for a second when the door does not unlock and open for me. I actually once even expected the front door of my house to just unlock for me! I wish they made keyless go house door locks.

Thanks - sorry to beat a dead horse but one more question - If I start the car with KG and pull into the garage do I need to turn it off (via KG) and give them the fob or just give them the fob.
I'm trying to decide to add this to my Sept. 2nd decade build of an E55
Thanks

When the car was new I once made the mistake of leaving the garage with the key less fob in my pocket (with previous car it was always in the ignition so it did not occur to me that was not the case). Apparently I had blocked the entire garage by accident because they could not move the car without the fob and fortunately they located me at a nearby restaurant so all was well

I really do enjoy the keyless & that why I'm wondering if it was possible to installed the kg system and not charging two legs and 3 toe nails for it.

If it can be installed, i'm sure it won't be cheap .. but I won't get a car again that doesn't have it. I love keyless go.

It is a great feature (I won't own another car without it now) and it is complex (with transmitters, receivers, antennae, control modules, connections to the CAN, etc..) But you might want to check with Steve about doing the modification. He's done them before. I don't know when he'll be in the US, but email him and ask. He usually emails back very promptly. He's also a member here and you can PM him. (He does amazing work, btw. The dealers hire him, too.)
