New NAV People - Need Favor w/MP3

I've inquired in other threads without luck... Can anyone with the new NAV confirm that attaching their MP3 player (Ipod) to the jack in the glove compartment and using the AUX feature on the stereo works? Mine doesn't... Thanks to all.

Yes, and I've been on every one of them... Can't find anyone with the new NAV to confirm they've tried it. I'm hoping someone has an MP3 player (preferably an Ipod)...

I really want to help, but I don't have IPOD.

Question

My HK has a cassette player. (1) Does the new nav unit also have a cassette player and if not, is one available from the factory? OK I know this isn't as important as MP3 player options but I have more than a few tapes that I will have to burn to CD and would SIMPLY rather not have to deal with it. (2) Does the new nav unit incorporate a satilite radio feature? (3) Does it incorporate the HK uopgrade? (4) How about voice recognition? I'm thinling about using the $3250 coupon in concert with the 5% European delivery discount and need to get my ducks in order before talking to the dealer(s).

I don't have an MP3 palyer either but I think DRB said he tried hooking his up the the new nav using Aux but it didn't work. Try PM him but I think that is correct.

I don't have an IPOD but I managed to play MP3s through my new NAV COMAND using my laptop. It's a little overkill, but it worked great.

I simply ran a cable from the "headphone out" jack on my laptop to the input jack in the glove compartment. Within COMAND you set the input to AUX (hit the Audio button a couple of times and click the appropriate softkey to select). Everything I played on the laptop then fed through to my car's speakers.

The sound was awesome. Volume control was through COMAND while MP3 selection was done on the laptop. I'm assuming this works with any device that has a headphone jack, ie. portable CD player, etc.

Thank you. It means that iPod will work nicely too.

I guess this means mine is broken somewhere between the jack and stereo... It figures... I was more excited about being able to connect my Ipod to the stereo than I was about getting the new NAV... Thanks for all the comments...

Question Dumb Question

Is there an auxillary plug in the glove box for 03 non-Nav E Class? And if so will it play an mp3 player?
