I just put on a set of Cooper Zeon RS3-a tires on mine and like them very much. Motor Trend and Consumer reports ranks it very high. If the Mercedes were not my secondary car I would have gone with Continental DWS or Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus(which I have on my 2011 Hyundai Genesis V8)

Continental DWS. I'm finishing up on my 3rd set of 4 (replaced all 4 eachtime). They ran perfectly for over 70,000 on EACH SET and I have never beenstuck roadside. (I have 243,000 miles on my '04 E320 4Matic. The first set wasMichelin and one blew apart at 30k after hitting road debris) They blast right through ponded/flowingwater on the highway and are great in the snow. I have them on all three cars. Two sets on the C240 4Matic and the C240k...same thing...never roadside and slight seasonal air adjustment

Michelin Primacy MXM4 - love these tires, one of the top rated (and most expensive) Luxury Grand Touring tires that comes OEM on a lot of high-end German cars.

+1. Currently running 255/35/18s all around with the Michelins and love it, very grippy even for A/S tires.

Have absolutely loved the Conti DWS in the past. Just ordered a set of 4 Nitto Motivos for both my E500 4Matic (245/45-17) and S600 (245/45-18) at a local Discount Tire. The manager said they did a head to head and they edged out the DWS. Guess I will be finding out shortly. Up until now, the DWSs were the only tire that provided good mileage (tread life) and the ability to take the RWD S600 (and C32 when I had it) through the Chicago snow. They didn't have them in stock at the store, but should be on the cars by the weekend. I did try the pilot sport A/S run flats once and didn't get 12k miles from them. Also tried a set of Goodyear Eagles on the E500 and they were worthless as far as traction and they started cupping where the Contis and Michelins never did.
